Re: Quicklaunchbar like XFCE in cinammon?
unfortunally i cant find such a docklet, i deactivated them all. Its still a Taskbar. I also tried Tint2 -> crashes on startup wbar -> basically unconfigurable and full of ugly eyecandy I think the easyest way is to simply kick cinnamon and go back to xfce, that has this functionality out of the box.

[SOLVED]
I could solve the issue on my own with the help of the ubutnu boot-repair tool. It automatically removed grub and reinstalled it, this time it let me choose where to install. Now i just have funny names in my grub menu, but thats easyly fixed with the help of grub-customize.

Re: Several Newb Questions
As for the screen issues, all I can offer is sympathy. I have had similar experiences with linux hardware support in the past, and I only switched to linux permanently when I tested Mint 9 and found it worked with (nearly) all my hardware without all of those ridiculous geeky conf file tweaks (that...

Evolution is somewhat similar to Outlook, and that is why I chose it as my, "Preferred Email Program". Everyone is different, and many prefer Thunderbird. It's lightweight, but I prefer to have everything in one program instead of 5 or 6. I can manage my Contacts, My Calendar and My Tasks...
