Re: End of KDE
Heh, not been on the forums for a long time but was sad to see the Mint KDE iso being scrapped. I moved to Manjaro KDE a long time ago due to lack of KDE love from the Mint team (no criticism implied, it just wasn't their prime focus) and it is a very good distro for those wishing to have a good KDE...

Re: Live USB slower than Live CD
I suspect that this may be a bug as this issue was not seen with previous versions.
I've submitted it here, https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1101715

Re: Manjaro 0.8.2
I think they have an excellent news MATE included as a new version. Even from the little I saw on their forums, they're talking about to release a version with E17. Awesome!! I do not know if the next version will be 0.8.4 or 0.9, but no doubt that Manjaro will make history in the Linux universe.- ...

Re: Manjaro 0.8.2
I was asking in their forums about installing but keeping an existing "home" partition and was pointed to a wiki article that I had missed. As some have said here installation is not that easy (unless using a whole drive) but there is something special coming in 0.9 to remedy this. One of ...

Re: Manjaro 0.8.2
I finally did an install on a spare PC (Acer Aspire) and it went flawlessly. The issues mentioned previously were not encountered so maybe there are some specific HW config issues.

The speed of clip selection is available when you r.click on the video in the timeline (as is rotate). You can speed up as well as down.

Try Openshot, it's a great piece of software and it's in the Software Centre.

Re: Manjaro 0.8.2
I am currently running this in a VM and I must say that I am mightily impressed. I've tried both the KDE and main (XFCE) editions and both are great. As a KDE fan I must admit that there is much more polish in the main release including a nice Conky. Pacman is super easy to use, so much so that I ha...

Mint in need of a refresh
Whilst Linux Mint is an awesome polished distro it is a shame that the website, products and other services around the project are so lacklustre. Just looking at the great announcement that Mint is partnering Think Penguin http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2194 it is sad that people are commenting on the...

Re: Unofficial LMDE KDE Live DVD: UP4 / 201208
Congrats on being asked to join the Mint Dev team Schoelje, your hard work deserves recognition. Just one question though (that you may not have the answer to as yet), will this appointment mean that you will have to install the main Mint packages? Previous posts in this thread asked what we (as use...

Re: Getting completely rid of DuckDuckgo HELP !
Thank you for the workaround.
I'm about to install Mint on a completely "new to Linux" users PC and I can honestly say that without this I would have chosen another distro.

Re: Mint 13KDE - anyone else have sound problems?
I am definitely not an expert in audio config but I have experienced a similar problem and I think I have solved it.
Just right click on the sound icon (Kmix) and then swap the master channel. It worked for me.

Re: Frustrations with home network
Thank the Mint team, having Samba preconfigured is one of the great things about Linux Mint (though it is not difficult to set up manually).
If you do ever look to a centralised solution have a look at FreeNAS it is pretty awesome.

Re: Frustrations with home network
Just to clarify, you do not have to make any machine a server if you do not wish. You could simply share folders from each computer (and they would be visible on all others). As an example my main machine is connected to my router via ethernet, it also happens to have the most storage available of a...
