Saving Display Settings - PC to Smart TV via HDMI

Hi All, I have a H-P Stream 13 that is running the latest Mint with the XFCE DM. It is only used with my Samsung 55" Smart TV. It is connected to the TV via HDMI to only play / stream video content. The problem is every time I re-boot the machine I need to re-configure the machine to properly d...

Re: VMWare 10.0.1, Mint 17, Kernel 3.17

It seems that VMare is a mess.I have no idea who uses it. Personally, I use VirtualBox to run M$ 7. But, run another OS X (think anything, but orange) via VMWare. Everytime I up-date the Kernel VMWare is not responsive. I am not sure if VMWare is still a viable optiion. I have posted everywhere to t...

Re: VMWare 10.0.1, Mint 17, Kernel 3.17

Hi All,

I have put this issue, on the back burner, and I thought that I'd ask again how to patch VMWare. Any VMWare version - 10.0/1/2 - and Linux Kernel 3.17.

Thanks, in advance, for any assistance.

Re: VMWare 10.0.1, Mint 17, Kernel 3.17

Hi All,

Still looking for a solution - VMWare & Kernel 3.17.

At this point - I would also need to scrub my disc of any, and all VMWare stuff, to do a clean install.

Help?

Re: VMWare 10.0.1, Mint 17, Kernel 3.17

Michel,

VB works great after any Kernel up-grade. VMWare is a different story. I have an X system waiting to up-grade. But, can't get VMare going.

I have posted / asked everywhere.

Re: VMWare 10.0.1, Mint 17, Kernel 3.17

Michel,

We are talking about VMWare, not VirtualBox. I Love VB, which runs MS7. But, I have a peculiar OS, that ran well until my Kernel (3.17) up-grade. I am still looking for the patch.

I have Googled, and tried eveything. I would kiss VMWare goodbye, but this OS is special.

Re: VMWare 10.0.1, Mint 17, Kernel 3.17

Hi All,

I keep going at this. I use VirtualBox to run M$ 7, and - am trying - after a Kernel up-grade (3.17) to get my VMWare back. I have (had) another OS running there. All was great!

I have tried numerous scripts / patches, but no help.

Any help?

Re: Can't manage to uninstall Libreoffice-base 4.3

Well, you could remove it manually by running the commands below. Code: Select all mv /var/lib/dpkg/info/libreoffice-base.* /tmp/ dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq libreoffice-base ibrahimansari, Thank you! That did the trick. PatH57, Thanks for that, but I already tried that, and running Blea...

Re: Can't manage to uninstall Libreoffice-base 4.3

Hi, On my way to upgrading to Libreoffice 4.3 I managed to make a mess of it. I've been Googling around, and landed here. I hope some one can help. I have tried removing libreoffice-base via Synaptic, and every known Terminal command that I can think of to use. However, I always end up here: adler@a...

Re: XBMC Crashes / Git Issues?

Hi All,

Any help, please? The machine where the existing problem is does not belong to me. I'm just visiting, and helping install Linux Mint, and all that open-source goodness.

Thanks, in advance, for any insight.

XBMC Crashes / Git Issues?

Hi All, I am running 2 set-ups of XBMC Gotham on 2 different machines using Linux Mint 17. One is 64-bit, and works great! The other - 32-bit - had started to crash. Basically, it would open up, then shut down. Since then I have purged all traces of XBMC, XBMC Bin, PPAs, Repositories, etc. After man...

saladin_hs, Thanks for the post, but that really doesn't help me along. Reading from what I have read Export To OVF - greyed out - has been well documented in earlier versions of VMware. Oh, I do use XFCE, as my Desktop Manager. VMware runs very well, it is just only exporting to OVF, that is my iss...
