Re: KDE 10 menu slow/laggy
It may also be related to this problem:

I found the menu to have the most problems with it not wanting to redraw the picture correctly.

Re: Network folder requires sudo on kde, but not on deb?
I can't get Komba to run for some reason, it just shuts down. But I went ahead and made a shortcut to run the code you mentioned so it works fine.

Re: Network folder requires sudo on kde, but not on deb?
Telling it to mount fixed it! Thanks a lot for that, now I'll have to figure out how to get it to run on startup (if you know the filename I'd appreciate it, or I'll have to dig it up from the web later).

Re: Network folder requires sudo on kde, but not on deb?
If I try ls -al smb://userver/share it tells me there is no such location, same as ls -al /share and ls -al 192.168.2.16/share Also, viewing the folder in root dolphin, it shows me that the folder is classified under root and only the root user is allowed to edit files, however if I try changing thi...

Network folder requires sudo on kde, but not on deb?
If I want to access my samba network file in dolphin, I must first start up dolphin from terminal by typing sudo dolphin, and when saving an openoffice document, I can actually see the network folder which is a plus over dolphin, but I do not have the ability to write to the file. I know this is a k...

Re: KDE 10 RC - won't wake from sleep
If your laptop is new enough it probably just needs to wait for the next kernel update. I got my laptop late last year, and on Mint KDE 9 it didn't allow me to use my ethernet port and I had to shut off the screen before even trying to shut the lid, but now in Mint 10 both these problems seem to be ...

10 rc doesn't redraw windows correctly --Bug?
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but all my windows don't want to redraw themselves like they are supposed to. In firefox I sometimes find myself clicking on a link above the actual text, in the menu bar I sometimes may have to move to a different section and back again to be able to see the pr...

Re: KDE 10 RC - won't wake from sleep
By the way--if this is what the problem is, I've also found that locking it on resume helps increase how often it works correctly.

Re: KDE 10 RC - won't wake from sleep
I'm going to assume you are using a laptop, since you talk about taking it to school. If this is so, how are you making it sleep, by shutting the lid, or from the menu? I have a fairly new laptop myself and I've found that shutting the lid can cause me problems when the screen is on when I do so, so...

Re: preventing backspace from changing tab in firefox
Thanks sgosnell, that did the trick!
1 causes the backspace to scroll up the page, and -1, as far as I can tell, does nothing which is what I want.
Again, thanks!

preventing backspace from changing tab in firefox
If I press backspace when not selecting a text box (something that sometimes happens because I brush my mouse pad on my laptop) I loose all the text I was typing because Firefox wants to go to the previous page. I know this isn't something found in Kubuntu because I just changed from that distro to ...

Re: X desktop doesn't load correctly after suspend
Edit again: I've found where the problem is coming from, but I have no clue how to fix it. When the laptop is shut the screen is disabled automatically but then doesn't want to be started up again correctly when opened. If I use the command "xset dpms force off" in terminal to turn off the...

Re: X desktop doesn't load correctly after suspend
Edit: if I plug in the power supply or unplug it the message for it will appear, as well as make applications open on the desktop appear. I was able to get dolphin to show that way and from there I could open multiple applications as seen in the screen shot. I didn't suspend to make the desktop stop...

X desktop doesn't load correctly after suspend
I'm fairly new to Mint KDE, but so far I've managed to get most things setup how I need it by searching the web. One thing I can't manage to figure out, however, is getting the desktop to load correctly after suspend. It did when I first loaded up mint, and it would usually come back to life without...
