Re: brightness problem on laptop? also touchpad delay? help?

I know a way around the brightness issue. Please refer to thread below. Unfortunately right now it's a bit of a manual process.

Re: Which Mint?

I would say go with xfce. It's supposed to be light weight. For a celeron, although your system might boot up fast, if you work with 2-3 programs then it can really test your system that too on Gnome. KDE is much nicer looking but at the expense of processing power.

Re: Brightness control? (Toshiba netbook)

Same problem on my T130 with Linux Mint 9, 10 and Ubuntu 10.10 desktop (32 and 64 bit). The only way I've found so far to dim the brightness is to open a terminal and type sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 F4.B=90 The last number can be anything between 0 and FF (hex: 0 ... 99 ... FF). If you type exactly the...

Re: Enable wireless by default?

Re: Cannot adjust screen brightness + wifi problems

Hi Dave, Thanks for the indepth explanation. I did just that, but the laptop now refuses to suspend. After I close the lid, only the screen goes blank, the laptop itself is still running though, so wireless remains connected. In power management, there are only 2 options when the laptop lid is shut;...

Cannot adjust screen brightness + wifi problems

Guys...I can't seem to adjust the brightness on my laptop. The brightness option under power management seems to do nothing. Also, if I close the lid of the laptop and come back later and get the system running it's unable to see the wifi network. The only way for the wifi to work is to reboot. Also...
