This is really annoying issue, happening to me too and I can't find any solution, yet.
When the error shows up I have to restart the computer to get rid of it for a while.

Happening to me, too. Definitely chromium's fault when GL engine enabled..
using instead --use-gl=desktop is solved flickering on both chrome and vivaldi browsers.
This makes browser GL capabilities disabled.

Hi, Could you go into fstab and put a # in front of the troublesome disk just to see if that stops the OS looking for it. I'm having same issue with ASUS K555U (ASUSTeK ASUS Battery) on Mint 18.01

It also indicating wrong amount of hour when unplugged. 10 Hours on a single battery charge! It's impossible. Also on windows battery long's last near 6 hours but with Linux mint over a bit of 3 hours.

I just remove .pulse and .pulse-cookie file from home directory and restart the machine.
