Well this is good news I must say!! I'm just returning to Mint after a couple of years or so away .. Mint 7 was the last version I had loaded I think!

Anyhow I'm running Mint Debian in VirtualBox at the minute .. so far so good!

In a fresh Mint installation, is there a prefered way to install graphic card drivers? (Nvidia in my case)

for example .. are the restricted drivers good enough, or would Envy installed drivers be a better way to go?

I'm just curious as to the differences really .. thanks for any insights folks !!

I use a program called 'Mozbackup' in windows Vista to do regular backups of Firefox and Thunderbird .. you could try running this and it might recover or repair your profile .. worth trying anyway !

It's easy enough to load E17 into an existing version .. whichever one you choose .. after you have installed it. For instance you could install the standard Daryna 4 (Gnome/XFCE/Fluxbox whichever you fancy) ... then load up E17 following the instructions at the wiki page here ... .. http://www.linu...

For Vista I've used the P2KTools .. v3.0.8 build 864 .. not sure if thats the latest version though, but it works well enough Also Skinner4moto if I want to fiddle around with skins ... I've installed Daryna a 3 or 4 times now .. dual-booting with Vista ... and everything is working great!
