Thanks. There's a lot of experimental packages in my system, but till now, rock solid. I don't have a single error in my system so far, which is completely new for me. And that is why i'll try to keep this config.

Re: PAC7311 Webcam (Trust WB-3320X) support ???

I just bought this webcam before i installed Linux (again) on my machine. I just bought because it was cheap, now i regret not checking if it was linux compatible. :? I've rarely used webcams in the past, but since i'm very very far away from my country, it's a great addition in communication with m...

Re: PAC7311 Webcam (Trust WB-3320X) support ???

I appreciate it. Thanks Pranaone.
That also doesn't solve it.
I'm losing hope.

It's the one thing that is keeping me from having my notebook all configured in Linux for the first time. sigh...

Re: Alternative to disable gnome minimize animation

Nevermind!
Found a solution somewhere else.

gconf-editor: /apps/desktop/gnome/interface/enable_animations (uncheck)

Done!

PAC7311 Webcam (Trust WB-3320X) support ???

Hello. I have a Trust WB-3320X Webcam (PAC7311 in Linux) that actually works for 2 or 3 seconds after i reboot my computer, but then it stops working until i reboot my pc again. Re: where are the Flash files ?

I've found a faster way to do this. Just go to the source and look for the .flv.
Open the terminal and wget it. It will download it before firefox thinks of loading it.

gksu -- arpon -d -i eth2
works, but it quits as soon as it starts.

What am i missing here?

gksu/su-to-root to run in terminal possible?

I'm configuring some security and i'd like to run arpon to a specific device everytime wicd connects. So, if Wicd connects to a wireless, i'd launch gksu arpon -d -i eth2 (for example.) But this doesn't work, because it seems that gksu only works for X apps. I found that if i do: gnome-terminal -e '...

Re: Where are xorg.conf and gnome.session??

LOL! No way I'll change to another distro. I've already spent way to much time modding my mint. :) Windows change of pace is much much much slower. If i keep away from it for two or three years, when i get back everything's the same. I've actually had an year old linux distro installed and now that ...

Where are xorg.conf and gnome.session??

I've been looking for these and i can't find them anywhere.
Both xorg.conf and gnome.session don't exist in my system.

Where are they?

This is what bothers me in Linux. A new version arrives and it's all different again...

Replace Nautilus with Pcmanfm

If there a way to do this?
I've read the pcmanfm guide in how to do this but it doesn't work. I see no default.session i can change, and gnome-session-remove doesn't exist.

Anyone help please?

[SOLVED] Alternative to disable gnome minimize animation

I find Nautilus minimize animation pointless, very annoying and simply butt ugly! I'd like to disable it, but if i enable reduced resources (the only solution i found), it looks even uglier. Which is only solved by enabling assistive technologies. But by doing this, i also need the AT-SPI-Registry s...

First of all, sorry about posting in the wrong place. (That's why i couldn't find my thread...) I've tried other recent debian/ubuntu based distros and ettercap-gtk worked just fine. There must be some problem here. I've tried installing the latest package version from ubuntu natty but i had some de...

Re: LIbre

errr... this doesn't work. It's not incorrect but just incomplete. First of all, you need to install python-software-properties_0.75.4_all.deb (download link at the bottom) to enable the 'add-apt-repository' command. Now you have to add the repository: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa Now...

Ettercap-GTK Stalls. (LMDE)

Hello everyone. Thank you for this very nice distro. I've been playing with LMDE for the last couple of days and although i ran into some small issues i could solve, i cannot solve this ettercap thing. Whenever i select my interface in ettercap, the program completely stalls. I've tried downloading ...
