WOOOT! Katya install, looking lovely and shiny and working perfectly so far. I started out with Mint and went to Ubuntu to see what all the hype was about then they sprung the Unity card and I hated it. Not too fond of Gnome 3 either as yet but this will keep me ticking along nicely. Great work guys...

As a (techy)kid many moons ago I watched 'Hackers', I became quite obsessed about learning as much as I could about computers etc. Was pretty disappointed when I found out how far from the truth the film actually was but it did lead me to Linux and i've never looked back. Ok, so I added an s to the end of the filename in my post by accident but I assure you I am editing the right file.

How about my actual question, I have saved the file and it gets cleared. Its most definitely an issue with casper and updating the squash-fs, any thoughts on that?

Certain files not saving on reboot

Hey guys, Does anyone know why only certain files are saved on a persistent USB install? I want to change my hostname and have amended the /etc/hosts & /etc/hostnames files but when I reboot the changes have not bee saved. I have added users and groups to my install and these changes have been saved...

I feel really stupid asking this but.....

I noticed in the Board Index there is an 'Editions' section and each edition has its own forum although I cannot see the Gnome edition. Is this because the Gnome edition is considered to be the 'standard' one?
