Re: Intel Microcode update
I just installed the update and I wonder if there is any test to see if it worked? This is the latest problem and I had seen mention of it when upgrading, never understood what it means. To see what microcode revision your system is using. dmesg | grep microcode e.g. in my output (procesor is a i5-...

Re: How do I switch my desktop environment to XFCE or anothe
So crunchbang is dead. Have you guys gone back to LM or using something else? Personally I moved from Saline, which died, to Manjaro. They have Xfce and KDE as main desktops plus options to add other desktops later. It is a rolling update system with Stable, Testing and Unstable updates, your choic...

That's why I asked here. Help !richyrich wrote:It looks like you are using the Intel drivers for your onboard Intel graphics. You'll have to figure out how to switch to your Nvidia graphics before you can use the Nvidia drivers.

Re: How can I install an epson scanner on linux mint 14?
You are just missing a GUI (Graphical User Interface) I suggest "xine," you can find it in Synaptic Package Manager. The application will look for your hardware when you start it up, so be sure the scanner is on and plugged into your USB port.

Re: Nvidia Radeon
Did you install Mint 15 before or after changing to the ATI Card? My HP came with ATI Radeon HD3000 and I did not even need a proprietary driver when I installed Mint 15. You get the 3D by running the Compositor, either Gnome or Xfce.

Re: LMDE XFCE UP7 Report
In my recent #7 upgrade I began from scratch. Using the Cinnamon version I did a simple upgrade, then added Xfce Desktop and goodies etc. Then using the instructions to get the Update Pack from the Linux Mint instructions I ran it under the Xfce Desktop. May sound confusing but I just decided to use...

Has anyone even read all of both posts? It's all Debian. Just two different releases, Testing and Stable. I think you just want to stir things up because you don't have a life. Unfortunately, I read all of it. I'm retired and Forums are my life, yuk yuk yuk!

Re: Mint 15 for xfce ?
I'm looking forward to installing it. :D Been there, done that. You can still install Xfce 4.10 Desktop on Linux Mint 15. Just remember some of the things like Gnome terminal will not work so be sure to install XFCE-Goodies. Change at login and it will ask you if you want Xfce for your Default Desk...
