Re: Google may kill Chrome's URL bar

http://www.conceivablytech.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/naviggavtion.jpg While it would display more of the webpage, I feel it's just stupid that Google thinks they need to do away with the navigation bar. It's only a few more pixels, right? The 'Compact' version is just ugly. To me, it's just to...

Re: Our Church Sound Booth PC...

Don't you love how budgets can easily get bloated until they're two or three times the original? I'm planning on selling my computer I just built soon, and with the money I hope to get out of it, I could easily build a PC with 12 GB of ram and two video cards. That's what your church should do - bui...

Re: Our Church Sound Booth PC...

That Dell.... it's just bad. Regardless of the amazing components, if they're united under that logo, it's like Bizarro from Superman. It's just not right. So, even though the computer you had planned out would have fit within budget, the church wants to go with a PC that's $200 above ? The only thi...

Games that should be ported to Linux?

Ideas for games that should be ported to Linux.

I vote Crysis, since it can run Crysis.
I know, old joke :D

I would actually like to see either the Mass Effect series, or newer games such as Dead Space.

Re: Please recommend a good motherboard

I have pretty much the same setup. Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2, AMD Phenom II X4 965, and GeIL Black Dragon 4GB DDR2 1033. It's a little different, but almost the same. WINE isn't working for me either, though. It may be an issue with WINE rather than hardware. Post the same question in the software forum...

Bump request received. Or what if you want to get up and have some coffee while the process is automated... Sounds like another excuse to slack off at work besides "It's compiling." I do like your idea. I've taken several classes at my high school on writing programs and taught myself a fe...

Re: Custom PC

We're simply just not afraid of getting inside our own systems. I've been taking apart my computers ever since I got my first when I was 10. I think Linux Users were the kind of kids to tear things apart just to see how stuff worked. What better thing to do than to build your own magnificent machin...

[SOLVED]Converted Videos Mixed Media Disc Error

I converted Kung Pow from .avi to .mpg with NTSC encoding with the following code: ffmpeg -i kungpow.avi -sameq -target ntsc-dvd kungpow.mpg However, after burning it, I put it in my Xbox 360 and the result was that it was seen as "mixed media". I'm running Linux Mint 10 x64 Main Edition. ...

Re: how do I convert a WMV file to a DVD file format?

sudo apt-get ffmpeg ffmpeg -i myfile.wmv -target ntsc-dvd mydvdfile.mpg Of course, "myfile" is replaced with the name of the actual file, and "mydvdfile" is just the name of the file you wish to save it as. Source here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Convert-video-in-Linux/

It's almost there... It's still a release candidate, but it's gone through the tests for both AMD and i386, depending on your machine.
