Re: Splashtop in Mint 17

Well, an alternative solution, at least for home use. Use Steam streaming! Just add a desktop app to your steam on the host computer, open it in the client, and minimize the app or switch application, and you can use your desktop! Actually works better than splashtop (in terms of performance and sha...

Re: Sound stopped working

I only get this problem when I boot with headphones plugged in. If I boot normally it goes away, and then I can plugin my headphones.

Re: KDE should be the default Mint desktop

No, I'm not a troll viking777, I genuinely think that KDE is the most advanced desktop available for Linux these days. And just so that you know, I had been mostly a Gnome user before 4.6, I never liked the pre 4.0 KDE versions (although I use them at work every day), and of course I agree that the ...

Re: KDE should be the default Mint desktop

I find that KDE has been greatly optimized, it used to be that it hogged a lot more resources than Gnome, but right now it seems like it is not far off from Grnome. If anything I'd say it seems to consume more battery life and energy on a laptop than Gnome does. And again, I'm only speaking about th...

Again, this statement is only true now, before 4.6 there were still many rough edges,...

Mint10 KDE system freeze when pluging in SD card or webcam

I have something really strange, which I didn't have before under regular Mint 10. Whenever I plug in an SD card, or whenever I try to activate my webcam, my system freezes. Also, if I go into the Kopete settings menu, it freezes the system. I have an Asus U35jc laptop. I have also used this system ...
