Re: Not Getting Same Results With Python 2.7, and NumPy & Sc

Can you check as already suggested whether or not this is a platform dependent issue?
I am also in my day to day work make big usage of python/numpy/pandas. I ran my code with the different versions of python/numpy you suggested and in my case I end up with the same result.

MonoDevelop

Dear all,

I would need to install latest MonoDevelop (5.5) in Linux Mint 17.1. This package is now part of vivid vervet repository.
I tried to install it myself but it failed (using that PPA tpokorra:/mono/xUbuntu_14.10/).
Thank for your help and suggestions.

Regards.

Dear all, I would like to know how to switch from LMDE cinannom to LMDE mate. I have been facing too much instability recently with the cinnamon desktop so I would like to give mate a try. Does anyone of you can indicate me a proper step by step or tutorial to get to a really clean result? Thank you...

Caffeine

Dear LM community,
I am running LinuxMint Quina and I just install caffeine (VLC was not preventing my laptop screen to dim).
Unfortunatly I annot see the caffeine indicator on cinnamon pannel (so I cannot easily turn it on oroff).
Anyone of you has an idea?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Tanglu

Have you seen the new distribution called Tanglu http://www.tanglu.org/ . For what I can see it looks really close from LMDE/Solydxk philosophy. I hope project will be able to collaborate a lot because they are all focusing on different WM and therefore do not really compete one with another: LMDE M...

You normally only need a /boot partition if you want to encrypt root. If not, don't bother.

Last question: if I use LVM do I need a /boot partition?

Re: interest of LVM + RAID 5

The slower speed of your 250GB disk doesn't matter to RAID. You don't need a /boot partition Use MS-DOS/MBR partition tables for an easy life. I think that if I do RAID 1, my raid will take the spped of the slowest drive. I can put the /boot within the LVM? I thought it had to be separated based on...

Re: interest of LVM + RAID 5

Arf I realizeed that my Hdd 1 is not the same speed as the other 3 disks ... then I can't really make a Raid 1 as I had originally planned. Hence, here below the new setup I am planning:

Re: interest of LVM + RAID 5

Actually after reading few posts, I think I will still put a SWAP partition.
Also, is it possible to combine disk encryption whitin a RAID+LVM setup? Will the performance be highly affected?

Re: interest of LVM + RAID 5

Actually considering that I have 8 Go of RAM, I will not create a SWAP partition, and as you recommended I will put the root partition on a RAID 10 scheme.
Thank you again for your help

Re: interest of LVM + RAID 5

Thank you for your answer, I would have another question: In my setup I got 1 HDD of 750 GO and 3HDD of 2To each. Is it possible to do the following: make a partition of 50 Go in each drive and to create a RAID 5 (of 150 Go) to mount as / a partition of 2 Go on drive 1 to use as SWAP remaining space...

Hello, I am not sure this is the right place to post but I could not find anything really appropriate. I just bought a small server in order to replace all the small external drive that I have been using so far.
