I have the Suse Linux on my other drive which has an awesome GNOME and KDE environment. So, is there any way to "jazz it up" without downloading too much stuff ? Also, what ha...

Re: Some questions on booting process on a mobile phone

Using Mandriva's xorg.conf in Mint !

I had some problems regarding the display resolution being forced to 800x600 @60hz in Mint 10. I knew it was because of the bad SiS graphics driver but the driver I had was for xorg 7.2 which was very old and didn't work on the Mint 10. I tried to use a modified xorg.conf from the guy who coded the ...

[Warning: May contain BS :) ] 1. I have seen many people who have Samsung Wave tryin to run Android on it. All of them say they need IDA Pro and its very costly. Re: Which is the best Linux distro for a 5 year old pc ?

Another thing about Puppy is that it's around 100MB download. You really owe it to yourself to give it a try. mikhou Yeah but the Mandriva 2010.2 is stunning even though I can't browse the net :P I'm gonna try Wvdial. If it fails, its time to move on :( Thanks for the post...I've to say Mint forums...

Re: Which is the best Linux distro for a 5 year old pc ?

Only since Lupu (after 4.3.1) has Puppy been Ubuntu based. Get an older copy of Puppy (4.3.1 or earlier) and you shouldn't have a problem. It's fast, runs completely in RAM, and is feature-packed. I keep one on a USB stick for troubleshooting cptrs. mikhou I would keep that in mind ! Thanks for the...

Re: Trouble booting Mint 10 after installing Mandriva 2010.2

Ok, I got Mint's Grub working (by grub reconfigure, grub install commands) but the issue still remains. Mint gives the same error as before, "Could not update ICEauthority file"

Btw, the usernames of the account I created of Mint and Mandriva were the same, did this created the problem ?

Re: Trouble booting Mint 10 after installing Mandriva 2010.2

I already did that. First I accidently entered the path for the recovery mode then I changed to the normal one. Mint boots up now and as I mentioned, gets a lot of errors !!

Is it because of some permission issues ?
Also, how can I go to konsole and install mint's bootloader ?
