Mint Debian CE-edition. I didn't say i just wanted the take . I don't and i don't want to take away from mint just added to it.and It will have more then the art work. Clem you should try the debian live-helper it has a front in called live-magic i would say it's what ubuntu reconstructor is made from i made a cd using your debian livecd added the things you put in to my cd it works great you can add the debian installer and it will put it on the hard drive.

Hay if you want to build a debian mint why not use live-helper i try ed it and it builds a good live cd and you can and any of the mint candy you want and its all in unstable/lenny it makes a live cd that you can put any uplash on it the cd is fast I tryed it on a amd64 3000 and a p3 866 both worked...

All I run is linux i work on windows computers. you could just duel boot till your sure you like mint you shouldnt have any trouble installing hope you get it working

hay zonas i got this debian mint installed i made it with lenny use the debian upspash and the mint xfce eye candy it works good just as fast as debian with out the mint things

sorry you mount proc like this then mount -t proc proc/ /media/disk/proc and then then chroot to /mnt/hda1 if thats what you have and you should be able to use atp to install you the kernal you need i have done this with usb sticks that and hard drives i left out the proc before the proc/ hope this ...

check your bios and see what it list your hard drive as it mabe using the wrong setting there like 3 chs lba large if chs list your dive as 160 set it to that and you may have to add chs to grub boot line

I have installed debain mint that clem made and updated it to kernal 2.6.23 and gnome 2.21.4 by using apt-get upgrade it worked and still have all the eye candy of mint i looked at the dream installer that zonas was talking about it would be cool but isnt it using etch ruby and gtk i tryed runing it...
