Re: Mint 15 KDE

What hardware are you on? what are the crashes? Cinnamon and KDE maybe isn't a good combo - why not 64 bit version ? - try a clean KDE 64 install if all mess up . . .

But once I activated my nvidia driver the system crashed horribly  ..... Totally borked.... I could only recover using ‘alt+PrtScrn R.E.I.S.U.B’ and selecting the old kernel upon boot.

Hi there . . . i probably have to reinstall the NVidia drivers for your new kernel

Re: Cannot install Nvidia drivers in Mint 12 KDE 64-bit

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this along with numerous other suggestions on the web. Nothing works. I can install the driver, but upon restarting, I get a black screen. Well what card do you have? is it an sort of Optimus card? look here if so: http://www.martin-juhl.dk/2011/05/optimus-on-linu...

Re: Applications Won't Connect To Internet

Nope! I now get a "Network Unreachable" message when I try to ping anything. I assume the default gateway portion "route add default gw xx.xx.xx.x eth0" would look like this - route add default gw 192.168.0.1 eth0 what does this output: /sbin/ifconfig or have you tried: sudo /sbin/ifconfig eth0 up

Re: Cannot install Nvidia drivers in Mint 12 KDE 64-bit

I cannot install Nvidia drivers in Mint 12 KDE 64-bit. Could someone please post a tutorial for this? Alternatively, would it be possible to change the installer so that non-free drivers could be installed instead of the nouveau driver? Thanks. Re: Too many updates for a fresh release?

I know the developers have been working on this for a long time, but still...seems like it could be somewhat more up-to-date. Hmm .. it seems to me that every new release of KDE based "Ubuntu" its gone worse, i guess the developers dont put much effort to it to be an really nice KDE distro anymore ...

Re: Linux Mint KDE 12 RC - No mobile broadband (Huawei E220)

What are your system specs? Your overall performance will be impacted if you don't have enough CPU power or system memory. Well this should be enough - i have this: CPUs = Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz Memory = 1581/2011MiB Disk = 354.8/915.0GiB I had also tried out the latest Xubuntu 11...

Re: KDE 4.6.4 is out - howto upgrade ?

A new package not available immediately on the distro was the driving factor for the decision? It doesn't matter either way, but if you're one who needs the latest packages as soon as they release, a rolling distro is definitely for you. I don't think a static distro with a regular release cycle wi...
