Re: Nvidia Graphics Drivers - Install Guide

Update!
Kernel 3.2 to Testing.
After reboot to 3.2 i was faced with terminal login(not the blinking cursor only), no GDM.

Fix was runnning this as root at terminal:

Code: Select all

dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-kernel-dkms
Reboot and it worked again.

Re: Planning LMDE deployment as a VM host

Lmde is a desktop distro. I would use proxmox as vm host instead. 2.0 beta runs squeeze and you can install gnome if you must.

Same here. Couldnt wait for testing and jumped to sid. I suspect it could take atleast 6 month. Lmde is in trouble.

Re: LMDE (Tracking SID, or..) BREAKAGES! - JAN 18

Now i spot a seroius problem during Dist-upgrade (upgrade is ok):

Following paket will be REMOVED:
gir1.2-sushi-1.0 gnome-core gnome-sushi libsushi-1.0-0
New to Install:
libmozjs185-1.0
Holdback:
gjs libgjs0b

Remove gnome-core feels like major problem.
i will wait.

Re: Install LMDE XFCE amd64 on HP ProLiant server

It must be bug in Mintinstaller. I got the same problem when trying to run LMDE in virtual KVM. ( http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Main_Page ) I would not run LMDE on a server, but Debian Squeeze instead. Or you start with Squeeze and then convert to LMDE, there is guides for that on this forum. Or try P...

But now on freeaccount when adverts pop up, spotify crashes, and just disappear. Using premium and it does not crash.

@viking777
I also did these, but no errors yet.
I have Intel graphics (i5, 915) in my laptop, so its usually safe on these Xorg updates.

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking Testing - read here first-8/n

@mockturtl Thanks for links to solution, but i found out already by reading posts from my debian guru: ZEROZERO ;-) Other strange things is font sizes, icons not matching Gnome3 etc etc. Thunderbird was also gone, but easy fixed. I guess when Clem is done in Ubuntuland, he will fix KDE and after tha...

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking Testing - read here first-8/n

Hi guys, im back to testing.
It was pretty boring on "latest UP3".
Now i got Gnome3 to play with, and some interesting faults to handle, like some holdback on Xorg.
After trying Fedora 16 on live CD i realized that Gnome3 isnt that bad that everyone is saying.

Re: I've switched from Ubuntu to LMDE

Hi.
I suppose gnome 2.30 comes straight from debian testing, maybee 2.32 is not stable enough, or they just skip it.
The point is, I don't care, as long as what I got is stable.
Rolling release is fun, but should never forget stability.

Re: Install Oracle database in LMDE 64 bit?

Dont think its common due to Mint is for end consumer, not Enterprise servers.
Linux Mint does not have any serverversion.
And probably Oracle is not that popular in open source community.
I would not run Oracle in LMDE, rather Debian Squeeze.

After succesful install with IDE driver and reboot, it cant start.
Just writing: Booting from Hard Disk...

and nothing happens.
So i need more input from others who have tried KVM and especially: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Main_Page
