Re: Problem with my Driver Manager

That means you're OK: everything works well on the default open source drivers. Nothing to do. :)

Re: Adjusting brightness on Asus GL502V

Check the support section of the manufacturer of your laptop for an updated BIOS. When available, install it. No avail? Then try the latest kernel of the 4.18 series , by means of the reliable canonical-kernel-team PPA: https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/2#TOC-Install-a-brand-new-uns...

Re: Root is full

Did you ever use BleachBit? That software wrecking ball can cause something similar, when you abort it before it has finished.

Re: Slow boot - Kernel (not userspace)

Don't use sudo for systemd-analyze . Quite unnecessary, and may even have negative side effects. Why is it so? Because systemd-analyze also works without sudo, and because unnecessarily running an application with root authority always carries the risk of messing up file permissions.

Re: Repository Update Problem - Google Earth <Solved>

Hi. Just had the same issue with Chrome on Mint Cinnamon 19. After removing Chrome from additional repositories, updating cache and running sudo apt update the only entry I have for Google now is under the Authentication keys tab. So now I have the same concern as a previous poster - am I actually ...

Re: Canonical says 18.04 will now be LTS for 10 yrs

Important to note Canonical supports only the main and (working with vendors, as it's closed source) restricted repositories. Commonly, as on Linux Mint, people also enable the community supported universe and multiverse repositories. I don't imagine those will be supported for 10 years. Those are ...

Don't attempt a manual installation of that driver. Use the reliable graphics-drivers PPA instead:

Yes, that much was already clear. Well, try the 4.18.x. As I advised in my previous message.

Re: Terminal code

It helps when you realize, that it's not "the terminal" that does all that magic.

It's simply a huge collection of installed terminal applications, that don't have a GUI and can only be used by means of terminal commands. But they're just applications, which can be installed or removed. :)

Start Stuurprogrammabeheer. Is er een gesloten niet-vrij stuurprogramma beschikbaar van Nvidia? Zo ja, installeer het en herstart je computer.
