Wonky Grub Menu action....

This is a weird one. I'm running Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon, and the Grub Menu on boot-up has this strange bug, but Only with certain Graphics Cards. I installed LM when I had the Radeon RX 5700XT installed, and the Grub menu is fine. However, I had to replace it with an Sapphire RX 580 Nitro and that...

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 20.2

First thing was when it started, a window popped up saying: Could not download all repository indexes The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the re...

As I drag out the Staples Red Button and press it, the strains of "That Was Easy"can be heard. :D No really, took only a few minutes from start to finish. Now if only upgrading from LM 20 to LM 21 would be as easy. :)

Re: Having trouble remembering my bath.

Or if you live in a house, not a flat or bungalow - turn the tap on, take the laptop into the room underneath the bathroom and wait for the drips of water to start hitting your head. The flaw with that method is eventually the bath will fall through as the boards under it will rot. I lived in a tra...

You might try this https://github.com/libratbag/piper Piper Piper is a GTK+ application to configure gaming mice. Piper is merely a graphical frontend to the ratbagd DBus daemon, see the libratbag README for instructions on how to run ratbagd. If you are running piper from git, we recommend using li...

Re: Customize the length of the desktop panel

To make the panel shorter just: 1) Right click on the panel, click on panel then Panel Preferences. Uncheck Lock Panel. 2) If Automatically Increase the length is checked, uncheck it. 3) In the Measurements section look for Length (%), move the slider till the panel width is the size you want. 4) Yo...

Re: How can i change "system tray" icons?

So Linux Mint is following the trend of 2-D grayscale flat icons. Why, oh why? Don't they realize it's harder to identify icons like this, when they are all in grayscale? The madness in the world of computer programing continues. Computer apps are de volving, just like the rest of the world around ...

Re: Linux Mint 19.1 “Tessa” Cinnamon released!

Did the upgrade to Linux Mint 19.1. Works fine, but..... If you use the "Modern" layout, then you can configure the mint menu, and other mint panel applets. If you choose the Traditional layout, it works, but several Mint Cinnamon Applets you can't configure, like the Menu, or Places. Weir...

Re: How to upgrade to Linux Mint 19

I'm not a fan. I tried setting it up to do 1 monthly backup & had it store it on my freshly formatted 1 terabyte HD. Started it & HD light never went off, even after 4 hours. Now it was backing up my 480 GB NVME which only had 80 gigs used, but when I looked at the backup storage drive it w...

Re: Right click selects an option in popup menus

I found the answer! It turns out this problem is just caused by poorly made Themes. To fix the problem: (At least in Mint 13 with MATE) Go to Preferences , then Appearance , then the Theme tab... Choose a different theme. Then test to make sure your right-click works properly. Note: There are more ...

Don't think this is a Mint problem, as I'm running Xubuntu 12.10 with Xfce & LXDE on another computer, and the LXDE side has started doing the same thing. Funny thing is, it's random. Sometimes I can go the entire session with no problems, other times I'll be doing something, like in Firefox, an...

Re: Thunar opening delay and opening twice.

Think I read somewhere that the next Xubuntu (12.10) will have the 4.10 Xfce included & it's Thunar won't have this problem. Can't wait to upgrade. ;)

And glad what I found helped. ;)
