How To Change The Splash Logo On Mint 21 - The EASY WAY!
With Mint 21 the old way of changing the image in the Plymouth folder no longer works. I found a bunch of bad info out there regarding changing the splash screen now that they use an animation instead of the old simple png image. Here's what you need to do: In the terminal: sudo nemo (this gives you...

Adjust Padding for Grouped Window List in Panel
I have my launchers in a panel on the top left side and I'm looking for how to add padding to the left of the launcher icons. The launcher icons are all the way to the left so you can't really see the indicator which shows open apps.

Re: Low Disk Space Error but 10GB Unused
Yes I saw that but at 89% full there are still 6.4 GB free so that shouldn't be generating the message. The message says there is something less than 1 GB free I believe.

Low Disk Space Error but 10GB Unused
I am getting teh low disk space error but when I look at GParted is shows 10GB free. This is in Virtualbox. I ran df -h which also shows I'm good. Not sure what's going on here: voodoo@voodoo:~$ df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 5.4G 0 5.4G 0% /dev tmpfs 1.1G 1.2M 1.1G 1% /run /d...

How To Move Timeshift Snapshot (permissions)
I have created a snapshot out of 19.3 on a USB drive and I want to copy it to another location but I gat permission errors when I try. How do I change permissions/ownership of teh entire directory so I can move it, and will that affect the ability to restore from it in teh future?

Re: The Future of GNU/Linux Remastering Tools
I'm still looking for this myself. I had also previously been using Systemback with great success. Tried a couple of things including Pinguy Builder but no luck.

Use Timeshift to Remaster Mint 18.3?
I used to use Systemback for this and it worked great, but not for Mint 18.3. Has anyone done this, or is there another tool like it that is working for 18.3 Cinnamon?

Re: Sofware Manager Broken?
Welcome to Linux and Linux Mint! Yeah things aren't right, but it's not the software manager. Menu > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager gets you to the behind-the-scenes tool, just so you know, and you'll get the same results there. I looked around a little and it seems that there is an issue...

Systemback Alternative for LM 18?
I have several PC's used in my business and have been using Systemback for years to create a live cd of Mint, configured to my tastes, for distributing to the other machines. I could boot from a live usb, click the install icon, and load my version just like the normal install process. I understand ...

Re: Mint 17 Cinnamon on Toshiba Chromebook 2 (64 bit Baytrai
Also, I love teh 1280 screen but things are pretty small. What's the best way to keep the resolution but make things big enough to see? I know where to increase the size of the fonts but it's going to take more than that.

Re: Mint 17 Cinnamon on Toshiba Chromebook 2 (64 bit Baytrai
I had the same thing working. Installed 17.1 & upgraded to 17.3. It was all good until I tried to run a virtualbox. Wouldn't do it and Googling seemed to suggest teh problem was with kernel 4.2. Does anyone have VB working with this setup?

Huge Icons - Only On Desktop
I've been tweaking with some icon themes and somehow I now have really giant icons on the desktop (like 3/4 screen). They were giant in Nemo too but I was able to fix it by resetting the default icon size in preferences. Any idea how I can fix this?
