Re: Make a commerical for linux mint.
rfbennet1, Racoffey's comment was not in reference to the quality of HP computers (which has always been excellent), but to the fact that HP is in the process of completely removing itself from the home PC market. They are selling off their entire PC operation. Then i must apologise and take my com...

Re: Split mint-meta-gnome & mint-meta-gnome-dvd
Not a revolutionary idea but will help a lot. Both of those packages carry a lot of useful software but some of us like total ergonomy and usability... ans so - after fresh installation I am always removing program that I will never use. Software like pidgim, tomboy, etc. gets removed to not sit in...

Re: Make a commerical for linux mint.
The way to get a Mint commercial is simple. Find a computer manufacturer who is willing to sponsor Mint and push to have it as OEM on there computers and let them advertise. And, by the way, don't go with HP. LOL  There is nothing wrong with HP  I have had my HP Compaq since 2004 and ...

Re: Bluray Edition?
This reminds me of the arguments fans have for Bluray versions of movies "there's much more space so there will be lots of versions of the same movie, with lots more extras" which ignores the fact of who is making them, and why. They WANT you to buy more stuff, they're not gonna pack that...

Re: Bluray Edition?
I think the Op's original point was regarding the amout of preinstalled (and even configured) SW that could be included. Though I may be wrong (and usually am)! No you are right :D I have always thought that they are CD & DVD editions. I suppose you can use a DVD and Bluray for CD iso sizes but...

Re: Linux Mint 12 use Gnome 3 but not Unity
2 days ago had a go at Gnome 3 and Unity and both are completely useless. Gnome 3 looks like it was made for tablets and Unity is just simply an annoying dock glued to the side of your screen which in turn bloats your OS makes you scream and end up searching for a distro that has common sense. Whats...
