karlchen wrote:Hello, russ553.

In a terminal window, try

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get --reinstall install mint-meta-cinnamon
Re-installing the Linux Mint Cinnamon meta package should pull in whatever is missing.

HTH,
Karl
Thank You Karl,
That did it, I'm back.
Nuther lesson learned, keep doing that for some reason.

Re: Installed nautilus, uninstalled nemo and now lost everyt

Nemo is a part of Cinnamon, the problem was predictable. What did you want to reach, when you tried to switch to nautilus? Nemo was opening and showing the file and folder icons so small I could barely see them and I couldn't find any way to enlarge them and have it stay that way. I used to use nau...

Boot into Mint, then press Ctrl-Alt-F2. Login, then enter the command: sudo apt-get install nemo When that is completed, reboot with the command: sudo shutdown -r now ( This is all one command :) sudo apt-get install eject librsvg2-common gvfs-backends nemo-fileroller gir1.2-nemo-3.0 libnemo-extens...

Installed nautilus, uninstalled nemo lost everything SOLVED

Nemo was not showing my files the way I wanted in mint 17.1 Cinnamon, so I installed nautilus and then uninstalled nemo. Now I have only a mouse pointer on a black background and cannot get anything to show up on screen. I have tried terminal, cont-alt-t, and cannot get a terminal to open. Right cli...

Re: Am I being hacked?

Any IP address starting with 10. is an IP address on your own local network so no this doesn't look like you are being hacked. Is this a logfile from your router perhaps? Then this is showing it doing its job of assigning IP addresses to devices on your own local network. If this is a logfile from ...

Am I being hacked?

Not being a power user, I am unsure what the entries in this file mean. This is my router log file from last night. I seem to have a lot of weird stuff going on with my wireless lately and have seen my cpu activity continue at kinda high rates when not doing anything on the computer. I keep changing...

Re: (Not Solved) Firefox 33.0 passwords not available

I would bet that was the problem as I have Remember Passwords 1.1 installed in extensions.

I have reverted however and am going to keep it that way for awhile, at least until the burn dies down.

Re: (Not Solved) Firefox 33.0 passwords not available

Unable to find anything about fixing this problem, so I reverted back to Firefox 28 and locked it so it would not be updated. All working well again.

(Kinda Solved) Firefox 33.0 passwords not available

Just did the update to Firefox 33.0 that came out today and now cannot see any of my passwords and my password manager, Secure Passwords, does not work. I have changed the Master Password, which worked last time I updated Firefox and lost my password ability, but it isn't working this time. Where do...
