I.. am Ikey

Bout time I revealed my identity. I am Ikey Doherty; I'm guessing some of you realised that already. I had no choice but to mess up my employment with Linux MInt as I was being extorted by my ex gf/landlord. I owe it here to say a massive apology to Clemenet Lefebvre. Nobody else would give someone ...

Re: Question - doubt !!!!

1) Its LMDE not LMDB.
2) You hated Ikey. Why does it bother you where he is?

Re: Convince other distributions to be based on mint

I don't get it. Why base on Mint? What advantage does that offer?
Mint is already based on another distro.. its.. redundant. Sorry.

Re: backup tool/hidden dir question

Its probably ~/.gvfs that its hanging on. Yet again the tool is being abused beyond its original
design... Just use CTRL+H to show hidden files/dirs.

Re: Distros of interest and why.

Without meaning to blow any self-trumpets... I'd just like to take the chance to put a little project I'm involved in into the lime light. Many times we've tried getting it off the ground, but now its really happening. Its a project Ikey Doherty and myself are working on, SolusOS . There's no downlo...

Re: LMDE SpinX3 Wishlist

Thank you for clarifying things up. It was the absence of an official statement to the matter that made me, and a few people, wonder. I am sorry if you felt that your cousin was posted in a bad light, such was never my intention. Again, Thank you for taking the time to clarify things for me. No pro...

Re: Tiny Core Fraud on Source Forge!

It has been a long time since anyone has deemed SourceForge useful to any FOSS community. This just compounds their previous cock-ups, and in my eyes should give the FOSS world enough ammunition to just boycott the use of SourceForge altogether. Think of it as a developer strike. If enough people st...

Re: LMDE SpinX3 Wishlist

Cannot Believe this! Good contributors like iKey gone from Mint??? And even hes account closed... Guys! You have to work things out, it's a waste of human resources. iKey was working as freelance and doing stuff in here, later on, Clem offers a job, ikey accept, there is an announcement. Later on i...

Re: Hello there

Hello Mikey! I was thinking that has something to do with money. Anyway, very nice to see that you are going to take matters in your hands. I was asking to ikey last time, if he can give us an update about the schedule on LMDE with all the updates or maybe a stable release and a rolling one... The ...

Re: Has the btrfs vs the installer problem been fixed in LMD

1) BTRFS is known to be slower than ext4. It is not a miracle filesystem.
2) LMDE was never advertised as a distribution fully supporting btrfs. Consider the fact its experimental?

Re: Install without format

Mainly I find it strange that the Debian edition of mint would remove an advanced option that's available in the more newbie friendly ubuntu version. I fail to see how an option that was never there was removed. live-installer was a from-scratch effort. You can't remove something that isn't there ;...

Re: I installed jockey-gtk from Ubuntu repository

Without coming off too brash I must point out the errors with this route taken. Jockey requires a distribution-specific implementation in certain parts. It also requires distribution-specific implementations of modaliases, which you will only be able to test outside of a virtualbox environment using...

Re: LMDE cited as perfect Debian rolling release

LMDE could eventually be considered perfect if its upgrade route was improved at the repository end via extensive testing and "earmarked" metapackages. I also see no reason why LMDE shouldn't provide where Debian fails to provide. Why wait on the base to update packages? The initial challenges prese...
