Re: videos very slow to see in steam nvidia 6150se

If yes for above: Get the 32bit adobe flash tar.gz here: http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Extract to wherever by right-click or tar vzfx filename.tar.gz Copy the file libflashplayer.so to either /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins or /usr/lib/firefox/plugins Restart Steam. Should be good to go.

Do you see a message in the video window indicating an issue with flash, and are you using the 64bit Mint?

Re: How do I mount another linux computer's share permanentl

This link is exactly what you are looking for: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=42713 The method that altair4 lays out can be considered easier to set up than the fstab route, and more secure considering you will not be storing your samba credentials in plain text (or worse your fsta...

Re: Not understanding how to share files with Windows

You're best option is Samba file sharing in LM12. You'll want to read up on how to configure samba for your desktop, but the main packages you will need are: - samba - samba-common - system-config-samba (optional if you want a GUI front-end) That will give you plenty to get started. Once you looked ...

Re: Error ndiswrapper not found

I had a 64bit installation of LM10 and a non-native usb adapter. I could never get it to work no matter what I tried. I had to reinstall the 32 bit version and all was well. I guess ndiswrapper still has extremely limited 64bit functionality. I searched for a bit on other forums, and most with your ...

Re: HHD Mount notification overlaps Cairo Dock

Not sure if it helps, but if you click anywhere on the notification (excluding the actual "open with files" or "eject") it will disappear. I am also not a fan of the location of the media mount notification area. The other option would be to disable removable media notifications completely, but what...

Re: What is the path of "Task Manager"

Here it is! C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe Just kidding. A quick way to find the path to a program is the which command. i.e. which program where program = "task manager" or whatever program you want This will yield the out put of path to program If you don't know the program name that is another s...

Re: How can I link Home folders to data partition?

Unfortunately the easiest way (that I know of) to accomplish what you want to do does involve the CLI! I unfortunately have no experience with using a NTFS data partition so I am hoping that someone who has can jump in here. THEORETICALLY: First, if you have not already, you will need to add your Wi...

Re: uninstall gnome 3 !!

Technically I do believe it is possible, but for all of the trouble that it would take I believe the best measure would be to simply ignore the fact that it is there. If you log into MATE, it should be your default DE at each login. If you are on a new installation, and have all of your data backed ...

Just confirming that this worked.... Don't know how I missed this combination in gnome-tweak-tool.

Thanks again!

Disable "Menu Extension", "Bottom Panel Extension" and "Window List Extension" (basically all mgse specific extensions) in Advanced Settings under "Shell Extensions". Thank you remoulder. I did read through this exact post before, but ends with the same issue of the bottom and top panels merging. I would like the top gnome panel to remain unchanged.

Re: Duel boot first win then mint [Help]

From the below link it appears that you have to extract the Mint boot sector into a .bin file to add to the XP boot manager:

http://dandar3.blogspot.com/2009/07/add ... -boot.html

Take a look at that and see if it helps out.

[Solved]Mint12 RC Panel Q

Good morrow Mint community! I've been enjoying tinkering with the Lisa RC, and have a question relating to the panels. There are 2 panels by default - The top custom Gnome3 Panel, and the bottom MintMenu panel. I would only like the custom Gnome3 panel to be visible, but when I remove the bottom Min...

Re: Linux Mint 12 Release Candidate

I have installed the 64bit Gnome RC and am loving it! I have been using G3 for a while now, and this is a nice improvement to the default shell. My only suggestion is to make the Gnome3 panel/menu font size a little larger. Although I've been having a blast trying to get everything increased manuall...
