Impressed to say the least.

I only had one issue with my install to this point and it was a "Simple" fix with my network card... By simple I mean I had to make a file in modprob.d and add a single line of code to it.... Compared to: -going here -getting that -downloading this. -throwing them all in the blender and hoping that ...

Re: Poll: Desktop environments

My choice is XFCE hands down. Its quick its nimble and it means I can keep using mint with you freezing / glitching. My secondary bet would be with e17.

[LMDE] Help with XAMPP - Joomla! install issues

Addendum: I fixed the original issue, I can get into the joomla install with out an issue but at the end of the install It gives the option to remove the install folder but it shoots an error and wont let me go any further... Try to redo it same thing over again. ------------------------------------...

What goes around....

As it would seem after spending a few months (OK like 6...) I find myself rejoining the mint community enlightened. So I would like to make a re-entry to the community and kick it off like this. :) -- Less of course this is considered spam then by all means be rid of it.

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon

I was just reading up on Clem's Wiki on GIT for Cinnamon(By the way thanks now I know how to spell it properly). Which can be found: Here It is about theming and so on. The idea that caught my eye was this: The theme needs to be either a Gnome Shell theme (in which case most of the desktop will be t...

Re: Linux Mint 12 USB ISO Does Not Boot.

What did you download from?
I was having trouble with the HTTP mirrors.
Downloaded the Torrent version and it works just fine on unetbootin.

Keeping mind this is the 64bit version.

That was my solution...

Re: Windows 7 Surpasses XP In Usage

This comes as little to no supprise, it was only a matter of time but in truth I would stick to linux like glue to paper if I had it my way. Networking class I am in would be SOOO much better under a linux base but it is registered through Cisco so its windows only. (Time to test how well WINE would...

Live OS testing Environment (On the site)

I know suse did this I think ubuntu did as well...
But how about a live environment for new users to test out the os... (Maybe adding a network boot feature for the "Install" button in the live desktop.)
Something like that.

Linux Mint American Community?

I was just browsing the mint community page and I realized Mint does not have an American community. I was thinking about starting one, since I know there are quite a few Mint users from the US. Anyone likes the idea, I'll start up a page on Facebook(Bleh) or something. -- Just an idea, Thanks for y...

Re: A Web Design Lab for novices, Testing area of vets.

Well I think it is worth a shot. for most of my coding I use bluefish though. So using Eclipse might be a bit of a learning curve for me but if it gets the job done then I guess it works. I just finished installing XAMPP on this computer. Good stuff. I'm sure in the computer world if there is a will...

Re: A Web Design Lab for novices, Testing area of vets.

Now we are talking. Granted I don't know much about coding like python or things of that nature but it certainly gives something to strive for. I like the idea of the all around in house server to be used (Xampp if that is possible for localhost working) but I think another awesome thing to do once ...

Re: A Web Design Lab for novices, Testing area of vets.

I'm a tried and true designer. It was beat into my head by a friend of mine that said "If you are going to do it. Do it the right way... Standards complaint from the beginning. Learn XHTML and CSS and hard code it." I took that to heart. Now for me coding other then a few things here and there is ju...
