Hello New Recruit,
It seems to be a re-occuring problem with Epsom printers, where the drivers work for the printer, but not the scanner.
I've got an Epsom XP-340 which works with the LM 19.3 XFCE version. It prints well but the scanner part does not.
If I get it going, I'll let you know.

syncing with a Nexus 4 Smartphone
Has anyone who has got a Nexus 4 had trouble with it syncing with Linux Mint 13 MATE? For some strange reason LM13 doesn't even believe the phone plugged in exists, so naturallly I cannot transfer any media, photos or calender items. Perhaps there is a secret setting on the phone that I am not privy...

Re: Linux Mint 15 "Olivia" released!
How does the 'Olivia' install cope with the UEFI security pre boot loader?
Does it have the patch that the Linux Foundation created to get around this issue?

Re: Linux Mint 13 "Maya" RC released!
I had similer experiences with the MDM disappearing. Strangely I suppose it seems it resolves itself if you push the tab button on the keyboard. Not sure why that is as I was quite prepared to tweek the lightDM-gtk-greeter as you decided to do, to resolve it. So there you go, sometimes the humble '...

Re: Ubuntu TV?
Yeah I am pretty sure LISA or any other Linux Mint distros would work on the TV.
I am not entirely sure why they put Ubuntu on the TV in the first place because their is an awesome Ubuntu varient for TV's called Mythbuntu.

Upgrading existing programmes
Hello folks, The other day I came across an insurance website which I wanted to use their on-line quote application. Granted it was an ill conceived website (obviously designed by committee :x ), it quickly recognized that my browser was Firefox. It then informed me that the website will only functi...

Re: Ironkey Flash Drive Mounting
Thankyou so much ProfessorSchaefer for that fix.
It works like a charm.
Totally agree with you with the better way of locking and encrypting USB drives, but unfortunately my firm only wants us to use ironkey and the illusion of security it entails.

Ironkey Flash Drive Mounting
Hello World, Does anyone out there know how to get Linux Mint to open up an Ironkey USB stick? I have been trying to open my work Ironkey USB stick (flash drive), but for some strange reason Linux Mint is not allowing me to open it. It does recognise its existence when you plug it in, but it won't ...
