Re: old Adobe Reader PlayOnLinux or standalone WINE
Thank you for replying however my reason for posting was not to find a better PDF reader. I have been using Foxit as my default PDF reader for several years. However Foxit does not have an option to print booklets. Say I have PDF with several pages. In the past Adobe reader could easily arrange to p...

old Adobe Reader PlayOnLinux or standalone WINE
Still trying to install an older version of Adobe Reader so I can print booklets. I've started using PlayOnLinux since LM20 arrived. Attempting to install Adobe Reader 9.1 seems to work until "Setup was interrupted before Adobe Reader 9.1 could be completely installed. Your system has not been ...

Re: CPU usage affecting ZOOM meeting
I am using LM20 w/Cinnamon Yesterday I looked into CONKY and HToP in Software Manager. I could swear I clicked to install Conky but HTop appeared in my Menu. Doesn't seem to be any more informative than System Monitor which came with the distro.

for FILE in $(dpkg-divert --list | grep nvidia-340 | awk '{print $3}'); do sudo dpkg-divert --remove $FILE; done and apt purge nvidia* I believe this will clear every problem out, you reboot to nouveau. That might be in a good position but actually don't know cause still went digging for system inf...

Re: NVIDIA driver fails to install LM19.3
Perhaps my original post on this topic was a case of TMI. The recommendation to install the Nvidia 390 driver came at the end of the re-installation of 19.3 and concluded by announcing that the installation had failed mentioning that there were 3 broken packages but did not identify them. Through pa...

Re: NVIDIA driver fails to install LM19.3
I'm trying to solve a specific problem and you send me the release notes covering the whole ball of wax ???? You are "trying to solve a specific problem" by using your own faulty diagnosis. I'll leave you to it. Good luck sorting it out yourself. Not at all. In the other thread cited in b...

Re: NVIDIA driver fails to install LM19.3
I hope someone out there is familiar enough with this scenario that they can advise me on steps to take. Re: /home on 2nd hdd install LM20 Cinnamon on SSD
Thanks to arvy, I hope this additional information will produce some results. Okay, krusty. Firstly, I am going to assume that your primary interest is getting things back into working order rather than any long-winded re-hash of what went wrong, etc., etc. Secondly, based both on the fact that you...

Re: /home on 2nd hdd install LM20 Cinnamon on SSD
Thanks to arvy, I hope this additional information will produce some results. Also kadaitcha man I may get around to the backup and do a totally fresh install, but the drive I would have to use is awkward. It has been a network connected drive plugged into a usb port on my router, but hasn't been us...

Running Mint 19.3 with MATE. I lost my keyboard toggle and can't find out how to get it back on the panel. A while back I used "reset panel" and the only items left behind are Bluetooth, System Update, and Network (WIFI unless I plug in an ethernet cable.) I used to have "en" and...

Re: PDF booklet with color
@ Jungle_Boy As of June 2019 Both Foxit (which I've used for years to print booklets, and Adobe Reader) have eliminated booklet printing. No explanation given. I tried installing Adobe Reader 9 & 8 but both put up roadblocks leading to their "new, improved version." I've been using the...

I'm not familiar with the term/acronym URI but the command gave me no results. Since URI is part of the second command I haven't tried that yet.

Cat, thank you so much. That's what I thought would be the answer but I was timid to do it for the reason you stated about possibly blowing the whole thing up.
