right click on the panel -> add to panel -> small window opens, with widgets, scroll down, click on "windows list" -> click on +add, click on close.

i have a similar issue with mic input in skype. i solve it by opening sound prefferences -> input -> and swithching between front mic and analog microfone and back. and then i have sound input.

weird, but works.

well, thank you both. i managed to get to myself out of x and no way back in.

finally, after some two months, i gave up on lmde "stability". now, i am enjoying the stability of lisa :D
