Re: Recommended Kernel MATE18.2

It depend on the CPU generation you're running.: Kabxlake: 4.10 skylake: 4.8 anything older: 4.4 AMD CPUs: use 4.10 Kerne 4.4 is to old to support *lake processors right 4.8 is too old to support kabylake fully even as it supports skylake. Anyways you may use the most current kernel in update manag...

Recommended Kernel MATE18.2

Another seamless upgrade to Mint MATE 18.2. I'm still running the 4.4 kernel. What is the recommended kernel for 18.2. I don't see any in 4.8 tagged "Recommended" like in previous upgrades.

Re: KDE 4.11.1 and Cairo Dock

Hello, Bill. I've installed Cairo dock and it seems to work very well; however, in the Applications Menu | Internet I have two Chrome and two FireFox icons. For the life of me I can figure how to remove one. I do not use KDE. Therefore I cannot really tell you where in the menus it can be found and...

Re: Mint 14 on old laptop?

Remember MInt 14 requires a PAE capable CPU -- boot in compatability mode to check for errors. Does it have a Pent M CPU?

Don't forget Transmission also has a web GUI interface. It allows you to add torrents remotely, even from your Windows machine. The interface url is: http://IP_of_Computer:9091/transmission/web

Very nice feature.

Just finished installing the RC version and I noticed the 'hardware drivers' icon to activate my Broadcom wireless driver is no where to be found. Any idea? Long Time *buntu user has arrived

Just a shout out to the developers, WOW! Mint Linux is very impressive. I've only been using it for a couple of hours and it has a very polished appearance. Runs pretty good on my old Dell D610. I just downloaded the RC for Mint Xfce and I'm hoping to give that a spin soon.
