Accessing certain sites causes wireless to drop out

OK, here's a bit of a weird one. Been using Linux Mint 13 on my laptop for quite a while, the wireless chip on my laptop is a Realtek RTL8192E (see output of mintWifi.py below). Originally my home router was a netgear, never had any issues when using it. Then I changed ISPs and got a Talk Talk brand...

Re: LM13 Cin. controlling Spotify Linux Preview

The following should work 1. (optional) Make a backup of your existing sound applet, just in case cd /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/sound@cinnamon.org/ sudo cp applet.js applet.js.backup 2. Open the applet.js file in your preferred text editor e.g. sudo gedit /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/sound@cinnamon....

Re: System freezing - Mint 13 Cinnamon

Hi, You guys are doing great at troubleshooting this. The cause of the problem isn't precise enough for us to fix anything yet, but we're working on Cinnamon at the moment and we might have some good news. Although the latest Cinnamon (pre-1.5) isn't ready to be packaged and released into Mint, it ...

[Solved] System freezing - Mint 13 Cinnamon

I recently started using Mint 13 with Cinnamon and it's mostly going well, but I have an occasional issue with my system locking up. When it happens, I can still move my cursor, but I'm unable to click anything, and most keyboard input doesn't work. I can use ctrl-alt-backspace to restart my X sessi...

Re: Problem with Gnome Menu search

Is there any word on an official fix? The code workaround works for me, but I quite like being able to search packages from the mintMenu (when it doesn't freeze) so it's a shame to lose this feature. Also, it is possible to recover from this crash without resetting X/the computer by dropping into a ...

Re: (SOLVED) Cheese...

I had the missing plugins problem, I solved it by installing gstreamer0.10-gconf

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-gconf

I already checked that, it doesn't make a difference whether that option is enabled or disabled.

Mouse input freezes when keyboard key held

Hello, Apologies if there's a better place to post this, I'm just really not sure where the root of my issue lies. I'm using a laptop and I mostly use the trackpad, but I plug a USB mouse in when I want to play games. I only installed LMDE a few weeks ago, and today was the first time I've tried thi...
