Re: BUG(?) "the specified directory is invalid" when it is not!

Shouldn't it be patch -d /home/series789/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/LeagueOfLegends/drive_c/Riot\ Games/League\ of\ Legends/

or patch --directory=/home/series789/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/LeagueOfLegends/drive_c/Riot\ Games/League\ of\ Legends/ :?:

Re: Mint 18.3 boots to initramfs

You must specify the partition that you want to check with fsck like fsck -y /dev/ada2

Use blkid to list the partition that Mint is installed on.

Re: How safe is it to upgrade D-Bus?

I've never encountered a problem with dbus even though it is quite complicated - several instances of it are processing constantly as you can see with pgrep -a dbus There's no need to test it since it invokes your desktop session so if your session starts that would indicate that everything is A-OK.

Re: history

Open your ~/.bashrc file - there should be a line HISTSIZE=1000

You might have to adjust your HISTFILESIZE too.

Re: Boot failure [solved but why?]

That's strange given that the errors appear to be graphics related :?

You might want to try the nofail mount option in your fstab entry and see if that happens again with the 1TB HDD removed.

Re: "Missing" file

Are you sure of the file name :?:

Is it possible that you accidentally deleted it or moved it elsewhere :?:

Try all pdf files with find ~ -iname '*.pdf'
