VM options for windows games

Is there a best or preferred VM software for running windows games? I'm currently using the dual boot method, but if I can do it comfortably through VM I would make the switch just for the convenience, heh.

Re: I forget, but can relearn!

Linux using a swap file is new to me, but I like it better than a partition. And with the system having 64 GB of RAM, I can probably get away with only a tiny token of a swap file, hehe. Not like I'll ever bother hibernating anyways.. the OS will be running off a PCIe gen4 M.2 drive. If that's not f...

I forget, but can relearn!

Howdy! Not actually new here, joined up in 2011 and used version 10 for a year or so, but then fell back into the morass of windows for 8-ish years. In my defense, win7 was notably less terrible than other versions (before and after), lol. I'm back now, and definitely more newbish than I once was.. ...

excellent, the ia32-libs seem to have done it. Marking thread solved.

Re: executables returning "no such file or directory"

All previous examples I was running from within the /ryzom directory.

Code: Select all

$ ~/ryzom/ryzom_client
bash: /home/yuritau/ryzom/ryzom_client: No such file or directory
$ sudo ~/ryzom/ryzom_client
sudo: unable to execute /home/yuritau/ryzom/ryzom_client: No such file or directory

Re: executables returning "no such file or directory"

That was actually covered in the install instructions provided on the ryzom page i linked to. But just to cover all bases:

Code: Select all

$ sudo chmod +x ryzom_client
[sudo] password for yuritau:
$ ./ryzom_client
bash: ./ryzom_client: No such file or directory

executables returning "no such file or directory" [SOLVED]

Using 64-bit main edition of L.Mint 10, and things seem to be going well, except I can't get any executables outside of package installs to run. for example, I installed the Ryzom linux client : $ ryzom_client ryzom_client: command not found $ ./ryzom_client bash: ./ryzom_client: No such file or dir...

Re: strange message in terminal [Solved]

I am having this exact problem in new and fully updated install of the main edition of L.Mint 10 (64-bit). Near as I can tell the only things not affected are applications installed as part of the base install process. My /etc/bash.bashrc doesn't seem to have the lines mentioned above, so I'm unsure...

Re: Partitioning questions for dual-booting

Thanks for all the advice guys. I did a test install of the setup on my old machine using pretty much exactly what Aging Technogeek suggested (bigger swap cause old box only has 1GiB ram, and smaller other partitions cause HD in it is only 80 GiB) and it's working out as smooth as I could have hoped...

Re: Logitech G510 doesn't work while booting

I'm having the same problem with my Razer Lycosa keyboard. It works just fine before the boot loader (accessing BIOS), and after boot loader. It's only during the 10 seconds it gives me to choose which OS to load that the keyboard is unresponsive. EDIT: Well that was a silly and easy fix, for me any...

Partitioning questions for dual-booting

I'm new to Linux, just installed L.MINT 10 on an old PC about a week ago, and have been playing around, trying to break it in exciting new ways. But that PC is aging, and seriously lacking in the hardware division, and I'm not spending on it anymore, so I wanna migrate the fun to my good machine. Bu...
