Re: Xfce 18?

Betas are always upgradeable to final releases. Neither final release nor release candidate were created yet, which you can easily check on the community website which exactly states at what point of a development of the new release they are. <moderator on> Removed unneeded full quote of post right ...

Re: Plasma 5.6 featureset & regressions

Just stay with LM17 for now, that's what I'm doing too. KDE5 is a disappointment and unfinished product for now, in my opinion.

X3: Albion Prelude

A decent space flying game with a lot of variety in the gameplay... but also a very broken game. X3: AP is about flying and doing whatever you like. "Whatever" in this particular case can mean a lot of things, such as fighting or trading or completing missions or playing with stock exchange, buildin...

LM17 is LTS supported until 2019, so you won't have to worry about another upgrade for years. Alternatively, you may wait for LM18, which will be supported until 2021.

Re: Has anyone else bought Tomb Raider on steam?

After getting a thousand likes on Reddit I felt obliged to buy it. (Even though i've never played a TR game.) The 10GB is downloading now. Has anyone else bought it? What did you think? The 2013 version? It's an action game with annoying quick time events. Nice tits and ass though, and sh...

Kerbal Space Program

This game is very unique and extremely fun. It is also very challenging and expands your knowledge. There is no other game like this, but in some ways it bears similarities to Dwarf Fortress - both games have sharp learning curve, are extremely difficult beyond the very basics (albeit KSP is pretty ...

Re: Linux Mint 18 codenamed “Sarah”

Also, I would suggest working on support for Intel's Xeon chips. These server class chips are being put in Alienware and System76 computers, with Lenovo et. al. to follow. What's the point of all this firepower only to waste it on Windows? You'll need to do this eventually anyway, let's start with ...

Two Worlds

A decent role-playing game for those who enjoy exploration and looting. Native Linux version is available on Steam for some time now (still beta, if you want to play it, then you have to purchase the game on Steam and then use "TW1LinuxBETA" code in Properties/Beta to unlock Linux version) Two World...

Re: When will Mint have KDE 5?

I just tried KDE5 in the new Kubuntu today. It seems okay. An awesome thing is that they finally made a decent dark theme. On the other hand, the default flat look is not to my taste. I don't like the look of modern Windows, nor I want it in my KDE. Fortunately, it's just optional, and one can simpl...

Re: Linux Mint 18 codenamed “Sarah”

Hey Guys, any update on the current ETA for Mint 18? I know that it's been estimated at May/June for a while, but now that May is 1 week away, could we get a little bit more specific? I'd like to request a better estimate because I'm waiting on Mint 18 to get my new system up and running (it requir...

Re: Linux Mint 18 codenamed “Sarah”

Kernel 4.4.0 has issues with my hardware (detects internal disks as external and there is no way to change it, even if I edit fstab), so I guess it is another reason for me to stay with 17 for a long time.

Re: How to upgrade MESA?

@Elizine

Thanks for your help, however, while this way results in my MESA being upgraded to 11.0.4 and there is no issues with my desktop afterwards, games that run fullscreen just show a black background and nothing can be seen (but I hear sounds and that I can "click" menus).

How to upgrade MESA?

I have a Linux Mint 17 installation since it came out around 2 years ago. I'm happy with it and I keep it updated. However, one thing bothers me and keeps it away from being a literally perfect (for me) OS - MESA drivers. They work great and all, but some new Steam linux ports have in requirements M...

Re: website abandoned?

A visitor to the linux mint website on April 6 2016 will notice that there is no monthly news posted for March, and no blog entries since March 8. What conclusion should they draw from this? Has the website and blog been abandoned? Have the owners been locked out by their own security? Yeah, ...

There's solution to the issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/+bug/1070647 I had the same issue, but the workaround works for me just fine. thank you for that info. there is 2 solutions, which one did you enter in modemmanager.conf - and what is the difference between them? ...
