Re: Mint 15 Software Manager
I'm having the same problem. Reinstalling does nothing. It's been going on since the RC, and I've seen complaints about it since the RC... very few replies.

Desktop Effects in Shell/Cinnamon/Unity "sticky" with NVIDIA
I am, firstly, an idiot. Just keep this in mind while I do my darndest to explain my problem. Well, this problem, anyway. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE graphics card. The desktop animations for Cinnamon, Gnome Shell, and Unity are what I can only call "sticky"- they're slow, and they free...

Re: Mate or Cinnamon?
Well, maybe I should clarify. The desktop animations for Cinnamon, Gnome Shell, and Unity are what I can only call "sticky"- they're slow, and they freeze for a half a second or longer. Opening a menu on Cinnamon takes a long time. This is with the Nvidia driver. When I use the open source...

Re: Mate or Cinnamon?
I am a bit of an odd duck, in that I like the Gnome 3 "family" of desktops- Gnome Shell, Cinnamon, and Unity (in that order). So, if I had a choice, I'd have Cinnamon. But I stick with MATE, because of my Nvidia driver. I have a Nvidia GeForce 6150SE, which (I gather) is getting up in age,...

Can't Upgrade to 1.8
This is very frustrating. I am unable to upgrade to 1.8. I have activated Romeo in the Software Sources. I have added the ppa given in the webupd8 post. (http://www.webupd8.org/2013/05/cinnamon-18-gets-its-own-control-center.html) I have sudo apt-get updated and sudo apt-get upgraded all evening. Re...

@meteorrock Any of the GTK2 themes on gnome-looks should work on MATE.

Re: Installing Fogger in Mint 13
As the only instruction I can find on line links to that particular page and PPA, I begin to wonder if it is a secret. None may know the way to install... FOGGER!
But no, seriously; there has to be a way.

Installing Fogger in Mint 13 (SOLVED)
For the couple of months I was using Ubuntu 12.04, I used the Fogger app on a regular basis. I had thought, upon migrating to Mint 13, that installing it would be simple- Mint is, after all, built on Ubuntu. No dice. I attempted to add the PPA from Launchpad, and got an error when running update in ...

Re: Linux Mint 14 "Nadia" RC released!
The only issue is, so far, Ubuntu One. I've installed the client, and it doesn't show up on the menu. I've gone into Gnome Classic to alt+f2, no dice. If it's the problem with 32-bit, I've run the fix, but still nothing. It won't run in terminal- says that it doesn't exist, but when I try to re-inst...

Re: Linux Mint 13 "Maya" released!
Well, more frustration with Cinnamon. I updated the Nvidia driver, and all was well... until reboot. At which time, things were messed up again. Looking at Nvidia-settings, under "x server display configuration", the resolution of 1024x768 saved, but "auto" did not. It switches b...

Re: Mint 13 Cinnamon
I am having a similar problem. Mint 13 MATE is fantastic; out-of the box, no issues, none, nada. Mint 13 Cinnamon, however... not so much. Everything goes swell, at first- installation and updates have no problem. I install the NVIDIA driver, reboot, and... The panel is missing, and so are the windo...

Re: Linux Mint 13 "Maya" RC released!
About 24 hours of Mint 13 MATE. I have to say: This, by you, is a RC? Really? This is more stable, so far, than any final release I've tried since Mint 10. Everything installed, NVIDIA driver up and running (more than I can say for Ubuntu), and I haven't had a single problem- nothing, nada, not a on...
