Re: Do you I think I have made a big mistake by buying a 720p TV ?

Mind you, if the source when it enters the set top box is indeed 1080, i.e., if scaling is needed in the first place, it is not a given that the set top box's scaler will be better than the TV's built-in one. You'd carefully compare... Frankly I don't see much of a difference. The picture is good i...

By the way, if you can set your set top box to 720p output its scaler might outperform your TV's built-in one.
Since both the set top box and the TV is new I didn't know that this is even an option,

After carefully studying the set top box's remote I found out how to set 720p.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Do you I think I have made a big mistake by buying a 720p TV ?

By the way, I take it from Google results you're likely in India; I have no idea about Indian TV infrastructure but while you said that your set top box is 1080i, do make sure it is not in fact upscaling an original 720 signal for compatibility with 1080 TV's. Probably not since in that case 1080p ...

Re: Do you I think I have made a big mistake by buying a 720p TV ?

If you have a lively local second-hand market I'd try and flip it. "New, with all accessories and original packaging!". Many people wouldn't even have enough of an idea to ask such as you did... Please don't take this in a wrong way. I am not trying to ignore what you wrote but frankly speaking I f...

Re: Do you I think I have made a big mistake by buying a 720p TV ?

Thanks for replying.

All I can say is the mistake is already made and I can do nothing about it.

This TV is not actually cheap (in my currency).

I will use it as long as it lasts and will try to make better judgements while buying

my next TV.

Re: Do you I think I have made a big mistake by buying a 720p TV ?

I guess you cant return it back to the store any more? You could always ask if it's a local store. Even with internet purchases in most countries you can return your purchase within 2 weeks. No, I cant return it. I purchased it from a store 3 months back. Hdready, Full Hd, 4K are made to be much mo...

Do you I think I have made a big mistake by buying a 720p TV ?

Hi, I have purchased this TV https://www.panasonic.com/in/consumer/home-entertainment/televisions/LED-TV/th-39e200dx.html My digital cable provider has given me a 1080i set top box. I'm not really sure what you are talking about.
You mean you don't know what an air cooler is ?

Air Conditioner Vs Air Cooler

At the moment I have neither. I sold my air cooler a couple of years ago. Now I am planning to buy another air cooler. The reason for choosing air cooler instead of an air conditioner is electricity bill. I can run an air cooler 24/7 without worrying about electricity bill. If I run an air condition...

Re: Cant install updates using 2G connection

Thanks for all the replies.
It seems impossible to download updates using this 2G connection.

Say I want to continue without installing updates what is the best way?

Should I use Puppy Linux ?
