Re: Firefox fonts and menu mess. Any way to fix?

unfortunately I had to do the same and my system is running 11.04 now too (since Friday) until we reach the next LTS version where I most likely will switch to "wait for the next LTS" mode. I really REALLY liked LM-9 XFCE but as it's a dead end there's no reason to put it on my new machine. The LMDE...

Re: Background not correct after updates.

I have the same problem and removing Nautilus doesn't help. The broken right click menu has a change background entry and I just navigated to the background I wanted and now it's there. Now I have to try to get the right click menu fixed. A lot of things are broken/non-functional in the settings man...

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content

asymmetros, thank you so much! Almost back to a functional system now..... Settings manager/Desktop is still broken but changing the background via the right click menu (which is otherwise broken) made it work. Haven't figured out how to get the trash back on the desktop, it's activated in the setti...

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content

Thanks, moving worked like a champ but the xfce-applications.menu isn't installed and I don't know how to get it (no updates found either but most of the Debian links show failed). By accident I moved the Mint Menu into the panel and the remove button doesn't work to get rid of it again...... Juergen

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content

well, it changed but I can't say to the better.... Now I have to find out how I can get the panel from the top to the bottom as the previous way isn't there any more.
The sequence in the menu is still screwed up with log-ff and help in the middle of the list

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content - negative success!

:x :x :x the update I just installed completely ruined it! Now the menu is completely gone and was removed from the list as an item which can be moved into the panel. The right click one is still screwed up beyond believe. Log off is now in the middle of the list...... MintMenu isn't an option. It's...

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content

That's good and bad news at the same time (XFCE 4.8 = good, broken menu = bad). Fortunately this is my "next generation workhorse" and I can continue to use my trusted old machine (CentOS 5.6 w/ KDE 3.5) until the XFCE bugs are sorted out. Unfortunately I am an hardware guy and get lost too easy wit...

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content

Thanks! It works but it means that I have to edit it whenever I want to add or delete an entry on adding something to the system. I have done something similar by editing the original menu file and replacing the merge all with links to desktop files. I have a problem if I have to dig into system fil...

Re: LMDE XFCE Menu content

Just wasted more then an hour too (on top of the 2h already spent) and all I did was screw up things. It's really convenient to manually edit a bunch of XML files to just change the menu! Must have been invented by someone who loves the CLI and editor........ What I found is that the line <Merge typ...

LMDE XFCE Menu content

The last update broke the menu content of my LMDE XFCE install. Now I have several entries twice (Log-off, run program, help, about XFCE and more). Searching for a place where the menu can be changed (it's the regular list style one) and google didn't lead to anything and a search for .desktop files...

Solved: Samsung printer surprises

I went there before I posted here but splix didn't work either....... Well, DIY is always the best in Linux as you remember it better :D This is how I got it to work: Downloaded the unified printer driver from the Samsung website and extract it which will generate a directory cdroot. (In what follow...

[SOLVED] Samsung printer surprises :o

As a refuge from another distro (long chain...) I ran into a funny problem with my Samsung printers, an SCX-4521F and CLP-610ND. Under Main edition 9 KDE I could only get the CLP-610ND to work and was really happy that Main Edition 9 XFCE all of a sudden got both printers to work fine (both are in t...

Re: LMDE XFCE Experience.

can't share your experience with a lower spec'd machine. Installed fast and everything worked out of the box. Have to get used to xfce as I am a KDE refuge (4.x just gets into my way) but so far I have the feeling that xfce is the best KDE ever....... I didn't agree with some of the software selecti...

[SOLVED] Mono removal LMDE xfce

Does somebody know an easy way to remove all mono??? I tried it the hard way via the software manager but mono runtime refuses to get deleted. It pretends to do something but doesn't... F-spot and Tomboy are already gone and are replaced with more efficient applications...

Thanks,

Juergen
