Re: bightness issue on new lenovo - intel graphics

@jeffro, ok thanks, but don't you have a black screen (backlight to the minimum) on the bootloading? I have it during boot and i have to set it again with keyboard function buttons.

Re: bightness issue on new lenovo - intel graphics

@jeffro i've your same problem with my Archlinux system on the same Lenovo Ideapad S300. I have the kernel 3.9 and i get a different level for backlight compared to Windows 8 one, because the minimum is the total black screen and the maximum one is the 30% of the 100% backlight level on Windows. Re: Can't set It locale

Ok i've fixed it was due to slim because in slim.conf i used this line

Code: Select all

login_cmd           exec /bin/sh - ~/.xinitrc %session
instead of this one:

Code: Select all

login_cmd           exec /bin/bash -login ~/.xinitrc %session
and in /etc/profile i've added this line:

Code: Select all

: ${LANG:=it_IT.UTF-8}; export LANG

Re: Poor font quality in XFCE-Debian

The LXDE version is still based on Ubuntu. Debian XFCE could be excellent, but its not being maintained. It might not be the guys fault, but maybe somebody should step in and help. I know Lxde version is based on Ubuntu, i meant that i've installed lxde on Lmde simply, but i would know why with Gdm...

Debian XFCE could be excellent, but its not being maintained. It might not be the guys fault, but maybe somebody should step in and help. do you mean Mint-Debian-xfce or straight Debian-xfce? Re: Fastest Desktop Environment for LMDE....

I wonder which is faster, Mint 10 LXDE or the new Debian based Mint XFCE? As far as WM go I think Openbox is fast but dwm is faster. Well, I am using Openbox + pcmanfm + lxpanel on top of Mint Debian and the final result is a super fast and super light system. Even in a virtualbox enivronment the r...

LXdm

Hi, i've installed LXde on my Lmde Xfce edition, i don't want to use gdm3 because i prefer a lighter solution like Lxdm but i've seen that it isn't in Debian's repo, i've tried so to install a deb compiled for Ubuntu but it doesn't work because it crashes after boot, do you have a solution? Thanks, ...
