Re: Linux Mint 11 "Katya" released!

Is there a KDE release planned for each subsequent Mint version? If, so about how long until Mint 11 gets a KDE version?

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Wow, these are wonderful. Is all this possible with default Mint, or is there some plugin/program/etc that lets you customize all that? I especially like the OSX-like docks people here have.

Re: Installing Cinelerra

I just followed those instructions, and now when I use the update manager it gives me this: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/user/ppa/ubuntu/dists/maverick/main/source/Sources.gz 404 Not Found Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/user/ppa/ubuntu/dists/maverick/main/binary-i386/Packages.g...

Re: Linux Mint 11 "Katya" released!

As a newcomer to Mint and Linux in general, I know little about the way updates work. I've got Mint 10, is it worth it to upgrade to 11-- or would it be a minor change, not worth a reinstall? Or is there some kind of 'upgrade' feature to go from 10 to 11?

Installing Cinelerra

I've been looking about for a substitute for Sony Vegas, and it seems Cinelerra best fits that purpose. However, I can't make heads or tails of the instructions . I think I'm supposed to download the source by adding it to some list or another, and then build that-- I have no experience whatsoever i...

Specifying the starting path of a launcher

I have a launcher on my desktop that links to an application in another location. When I start the application itself, it runs fine, however, when I run it from the launcher, the program fails to load because (I believe) it's looking for the files that it needs from the directory the launcher is in,...

Changing Horizontal Grid Size

Some of my icons' names are a bit too big, and they overlap. However, moving them one space away horizontally makes them quite far apart. Is there a way to change the grid size? I'm using a Gnome desktop, 32-bit Mint 10.

System Stays On After Power Down

When I click 'shut down' from the desktop, Mint gets to printing out 'power down...', but doesn't actually shut off. I have to hold the power button on my computer to shut off manually-- maybe it freezes here, or the OS isn't telling the computer to turn the power off properly? I assume this is some...

Toribash 3.91 Installs, But Doesn't Start

Hello! I'm very new to Mint, and I'm trying to install some of my games on Wine 1.2.2. Toribash 3.91's windows version works fine on a Mac version of Wine-- Winebottler (which is a GUI, but still the newest version of Wine apparently), so I assume compatibility with Wine is not the issue. I've gotte...
