Re: No updates?

- although lmde-xfce is a separate ed, it uses exactly the same sources.list as the gnome ed. - so, please tell me, how could Clem release an update specific for the xfce users? OK, you're right. Re: No updates?

How can you start working on something you don't have at your disposal? As far as I understand it Gnome 3.2 just entered Debian testing... Yes, Gnome 3.2 has just entered Debian testing, but it was already available in Mint 12, and Cinnamon too. So, I think it was possible to start working on it. A...

Re: No updates?

Hmmm... "in the coming weeks " in Incoming. I don't know if it's a good or bad new. Really. Does it mean that the dev's had no time to prepare the UP4 and that they only start to work on it from now ? Clearly, LMDE users need more informations about the future of their favorite distributio...

Re: No updates?

What I would like to see is some kind of road map for LMDE. If the Mint devs simply said "we've been tied up and we wanted to wait for Gnome 3, so UP4 will be coming something in late March" I would be fine with that. It's not knowing that bothers me (a little). I do agree with this posit...

Hi Berneri,

I was! But I changed a few months ago and switched to LMDE because I had too many bugs with my Nvidia card.

Are you using 64bit or 32bit kernel (I use 2.6.39-2 AMD64)?
32.

It could be an explanation.

For now the french transplantion seems to be complete but the mintupdate-debian package is not yet in the list.

I'll wait.

Best regards

Re: We need more testers to the new incoming repo (how-to)

Well, yesterday I left a message on the blog to thank for mintupdate-debian and to propose help for the translation if needed (some users of the french forum have asked for).

My message has been deleted but I don't know why.

I do not have this kernel panic on my system.

Maybe it could be related to some hardware configurations ?

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - read here first - Update 22 june 2011

Thank you so much lmdeman.

Your answer is perfectly clear and your English language is better than mine.

I agree that the need to install manually the headers after updating the kernel is not very "minty" but we have to remember that LMDE is not Mint

Not sure to understand. Could you explain ? Do you have some examples in mind ?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - read here first - Update 15 june 2011

To ensure further updates you should install the meta-package linux-headers-2.6-686-pae. This should not affect 64-bit LMDE. Strange, there is no dummy transitional package as for the kernel image to automate this transition... I had to install the linux-headers-2.6-686-pae to obtain the compilatio...

Well, I could'nt stand to wait for the week end to install this new kernel and I did it this morning.

All is OK. I just need to install the linux-headers to compile my Nvidia drivers with dkms.

Thank you zerozero. Did you hold the xorg version before upgrading ?

I saw your Nvidia works with the nvidia 270, it's 173 for me. Don't know if this could have consequences with the 2.6.39.

@roger64, are you member of ubuntu-fr ?

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - read here first - Update 15 june 2011

Hello all, Today, dist-upgrade wants to install the 2.3.39 kernel and proposes an update for xorg. I've read that some of us had problems after xorg update. So I have some questions: - has someone tried the new 2.6.39 kernel with LMDE ? (I'm with the 2.3.38 and all is OK) - does the xorg updates als...
