Re: Ideas for Isadora KDE

+1 for AcetoneISO. It's the best mounting/unmounting tool for ISO and has a lot of other unique features.

Re: Just tried Mint KDE CE...

@mintnoob, Go to system settings, appearance, Fonts.

Enable antialiasing, click configure and enable sub-pixel rendering RGB, hinting: slight. It looks much better in my opinion.

Re: Helena KDE ideas

The Beta channel for Linux was release a couple of days ago, with extension enabled by default and works pretty good. I've been using the dev channel for about 3 months. This beta is pretty stable and fast.

Re: Linux Mint 7 KDE RC1 Bug Thread

KDE 4 default fonts are awful, at least for me :P

I found out that enabling anti-aliasing, setting UseSubPixelRendering to RGB and Hinting Style to Slight improves a lot its look. This may be a nice default setting. What do you think?

Re: Linux Mint 7 KDE RC1 Bug Thread

@exploder,

Remember this is not system wide, but pertains to Firefox's defaults.
Whe double clicking a torrent file outside of firefox, it opens fine.

Re: Linux Mint 7 KDE RC1 Bug Thread

I installed on its own partition. On VirtualBox 3.0 I was having problems. It hanged whenever I wanted to upgrade the system. But a fresh install directly works great. The gnome network manager didn't get to connect to my Wifi(even when unsecured), so replaced it with Wicd and everything works fine....

Re: Linux Mint 7 KDE RC1 Bug Thread

Just did a fresh install on my MacBook pro and everything is working fine. :)

One thing that should be installed by default should be the gtk-qt engine for KDE 4. So it renders gtk apps better. What do you think?

Also, just reconfirmed KTorrent is not the default on Firefox.

Cheers

Re: Linux Mint 7 KDE RC1 Bug Thread

I got to install it fine on VirtualBox 3.0, but when trying to update to kde 4.3, it all hangs and never finishes upgrading, as kde4.3 release notes says X will crash but will still finish the update. I hangs completely.
But I did get to install it completely.

Re: Linux Mint 7 KDE RC1 Bug Thread

Really? Ok. Maybe this is because I downloaded the ISO the day before it was officially announced. Hehe.

Ok thanks ;)

Re: Linux Mint 7 KDE RC1 Bug Thread

Awesome realease.
Found this issue: From Firefox, torrent files are suggested to be opened with KGet, instead of KTorrent. This is easy to change though, but is better to have it set automatically.

Cheers!

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?

Greaaat! I'm using Kubuntu Jaunty and its very fast and looks awesme, so I can only expect more from Mint's version. Amarok 2.1 looks awesome as well, with new features and polished looks.

Cheers.

Oh sorry, that menu item is for GNome, but KDE should have something similar, like start up programs or something like that.

Re: Linux Mint 6 KDE RC1 released!

Hey Nathan, I used this command to disable touchpad while typing. syndaemon -d -t -i 2 It will disable your touchpad while you type and 2 more seconds after your last key press. Pretty useful. Add it to you Session, by going to Menu -> Preferences -> Sessions, and create a new command for it. Call i...
