Re: Mint 13 MATE: Avant Window Navigator & AWN Mint Menu

How can I get it to work on Mint 13 xfce? I assume the issue is that there is no "gnomeapplet" anymore, but I'm not on mate so I can't change it to mateapplet. The plugin just loads in AWN for a while but then just crashes. Edit: I installed the required python-mate stuff, works now. However it load...

Re: Fix Scrollbars Please!

I don't think most people use those things to be honest. I'm surprised anyone does, but why not.
Wouldn't expect it to be implemented anytime soon though haha.

Re: Strange artifacts in panel text

I've noticed, that sometimes cinnamon doesn't apply changes on the fly. Sometimes you need to reload cinnamon after changing settings. Alt+F2 and run "r", try to change fonts and then reload. Could also try sudo fc-cache -f -v to rebuild font cache. But tbh, it sounds like a gpu driver problem. What...

Re: Strange artifacts in panel text

I would start by taking a look at your fonts.
Maybe there's a way to "reset" your fonts in general.
Does changing fonts do anything?

Re: Cinnamon 1.61 on Ubuntu 12.10

No idea to be honest but did you install muffin?
Maybe try to load the meta/default packet (that includes mint menu and such iirc) for cinnamon from the linux mint repository?

Re: How do I uninstall/remove linux Mint 13

You can just install xfce with synaptic packet manager or apt-get in terminal. In linux you can choose between many desktop environments and window managers, not like MS windows where you have one. Linux is not bound to a DE or window manager like windows for example. Think of it this way: you could...

Awesome distro

Hi.
Basically, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love this distro.
It gives me the perfect balance of eye candy and simplicity without any issues with performance (kwin and compiz don't work well with ati)
Cinnamon is just perfect for me.

Great distro, the best so far.

Re: Noob question

Thanks for the reply.
So when is the next LTS coming out? And shouldn't 11.04 be a non-alpha/beta version without bugs (eventually)?
I really liked mint with KDE, I tried the 10 version shortly.
Also what is a rolling release?

Noob question

Hey. I recently started using Linux, after I first tried it in 2006, but it didn't support my (mainstream) hardware for 2-3 years so I gave up. Now, I have another pretty common setup in my system, and I decided to give it a try. Well, turns out 11.04 doesn't work at all, there's a bug that will cau...
