Thanks. I will have to study that carefully to avoid technical problems.

Re: Kernel Update 5.0.0.37.95 to 5.3.0.26.95 Kills nVidia Video Drivers

Trying the earlier kernel didn't help for me but at least recovered to a high res display again. Checking Synaptic package manager indicates broken packages. Using repair broken packages indicates libnvidia-gl-390 (version 390.129-0ubuntu0~gpu18.04.1 needs reinstall but.. results in Error E: /var/ca...

Re: How To install Draftsight CAD 64 bit

Looks like Draftsight are pulling the plug on Linux support now that they have got the program sorted. Free until the end of 2019. So looking for another Linux CAD package.

Main menu button [solved]

This suddenly disappeared from it's usual spot to the left end of the panel.
I have been able to turn it back on by " add applets to the panel" but it is now in the group to the right of the panel and can't be relocated to it's orignal position.
Seems odd behaviour. An update issue?

(Solved) Re: Gnucash delete not working

I appear to have found the solution.

I went to the Synaptic Package manager and found ibus-gtk:i386 was installed but not ibus-gtk3

I installed ibus-gtk3
Logged out and in again and the keys all working :)

Re: Gnucash delete not working

Hi. I am trying to delete simple typing errors when entering information. For example I type "bank feee" (an extra e) pressing backspace or moving the cursor between the eees and using delete key has no effect. Another example I enter $130 and realise it should be $150 pressing backspace/d...

Gnucash delete not working(Solved)

Anyone else have this issue. The program works fine apart from this and I have used it for a number of years but now Backspace and delete do not work.
If I highlight error with mouse I can type over.

Re: Unable to connect to upstart

The instructions allowed me to login again to my relief. The cure did cause some problems such as no wifi, bluetooth, nvidia display drivers and no recognising external USB drives I used Timeshift to restore using a snapshot it had done this morning. It took a while but on reboot all good. Thanks fo...

Unable to connect to upstart

I can't login. Get this message. Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds. If you have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem or that you may be out of diskspace. Try logging i with one of the failsafe sessions to see if you can fix the problem. Advice ...

Re: [UNSOLVED] Bluetooth problems: Bastien's computer? Who the heck is Bastien?

So I'm sure it's the card - it doesn't drop the connection to the mouse (maybe stores it?) when the machine is shut down. Hence when it's re-started in another OS the card gives out some sort of "busy" signal telling whatever the OS is that it's already connected even though it isn't. So ...
