Re: trying to mount samsung galaxy tab a

I have found that it works better if I use the USB cable that came with my Galaxy Tab A, then it is plug and play. That seems to be important for me.

Re: Is there some way to force GParted to use 16.00MiB?

That is a thought and I will keep it in mind, but I will still look for a GParted answer because I am familiar with using GParted. Thanks, still looking. - Mike

Is there some way to force GParted to use 16.00MiB?

Hi All: Thanks Clem for Mint! Every week I do my backups to two or three Sandisk Ultra 256GB USB3 flash thumb drives. I copy complete partitions (~114GB). Yes I know write speeds will be slow, and that slow write speeds are normal for this particular type of flash drive. I make three backups, usuall...

Re: Debounce Mouse (Prevent too fast double clicks)

My logitech mouse often double clicks the left mouse button. My cheapo e-bay mouse works fine but I prefer the logitech when it is working. Sometimes I can reduce the problem by whacking the logitech mouse at 90 degrees on the side of the mouse on to the table. I not quite break the logitech mouse I...

Re: If only Bluetooth worked...

My M557 Bluetooth mouse works normally with Cinnamon 17.2 on an old Elitebook 8730w. I have to re-connect to it every time I boot using the touchpad to make the connection, but outside of a double clicking left mouse botton, it works normally. - Mike

Re: I have 64Gb USB in persistent mode...

My solution is to use gparted because it is easy for me to use. I use gparted to 1 - make backups (this is #1 use) 2 - copy partitions 3 - make partitions larger 4 - change partition flags 5 - inspect disks 6 - create partitions I use the gparted from the Cinnamon 17.2 LIVE SYSTEM because it gives m...

[Fails] Re: Want new video driver on old Cinnamon 17.2

Thank You Hoser Rob I loaded (dpkg and gdebi) the newer XSERVER-XORG-VIDEO-NOUVEAU Version 1:1.0.12-1build2 on my old Cinnamon 17.2 and it reverted to "Software Rendering Mode". Message said something like the dependencies were not possible to resolve. Oh well, sometimes wrong version drivers work, ...

Re: Want new video driver on old Cinnamon 17.2

Thank You Hoser Rob, this is exactly the answer and the driver I was looking for. Now I have to take one of my live backups and modify it to see if I break it(I keep 3 backups). I have other things to do too so this might take me a while to accomplish. I expect to report back if I have success or fa...

[SOLVED] Re: How Can I replace the word "Terminal" with the command I'm running?

THANK YOU Chris! Your solution works! The command line is now in the title bar. That is exactly what I wanted. For all to see what I did, I followed Chris' instructions: put the following into ~/.bashrc trap 'echo -ne "\033]2;$(history 1 | sed "s/^[ ]*[0-9]*[ ]*//g")\007"' DEBUG Thank You, Thank You...

Re: How Can I replace the word "Terminal" with the command I'm running?

Hi phd21: Thanks for your knowledge dump about transcoders, thanks a lot! Now I wish I knew more about what is out there in transcoder land. I used ffmpeg years ago (before the ffmpeg split) from the command line and just recently picked up my old notes and continued with it. I'm very comfortable wi...

Re: How Can I replace the word "Terminal" with the command I'm running?

Hi Cosmo, and thanks for your answer.

I tried right click, profiles, profile preferences, but I couldn't figure how to get the presently running command into the title bar. Did I miss something?

Thanks - Mike

Hi All: Thanks Clem and all !!!!!! I'm using Cinnamon 17.2 that has already been upgraded many times. Surely someone has requested this before and I just don't know how to search for it. Re: More than 4GB files to a LiveUSB stick?

How about 107Gig persistence on a LiveUSB stick? I didn't use unetbootin. Instead I used Lili and followed the directions to make a casper-rw file. It worked just fine at under 4Gig. Then I experimented. I deleted the casper-rw file and made an ext-2 partition named casper-rw and it worked just fine...

Hi FedericoKCL FredericoKCL says "LiveUSB due to the limitation in terms of read/write cycle that you have on a USB. Did you have any problem or are you awere of any problem in regard to this?" TMI follows: Using the exact flash drive I specified, no problems at all and I have been using these 128Gi...

Re: SSD and Mint

Hi Guys: SSD=EXCELLENT. USB 3=VERY VERY GOOD. I use USB 3 instead of/as SSD. I chose a different route a long time ago before SSD was even marketed. I went with USB 2 over 5 years ago and now USB 3 and I still use it exclusively. Whatever computer I plug the USB 3 flash drive into, all my OS/Data, e...
