Re: Acer AspireOne 722 no microphone/line-in

Hi, thanks for the answer. I updated to kernel 3.2. Unfortunately, I doesn't solve the issue. The external mic at the jack still doesn't work at all. Meanwhile bought a creative sound blaster play! USB soundcard that works. But the volume is too low there and hence not a full solution. Would be bet...

Re: Acer AspireOne 722 no microphone/line-in

Try the latest kernel: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/daily/current/ I think it solves this issue. I was installing Ubuntu on a Acer 522, and a similar problem came up. While searching for a solution, someone mentioned that the latest kernel solved the issue. Can't confirm if it will ...

Bugs should be reported at Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint
I've tried filing two bugs already. After I submit them, I get redirected to a blank screen where nothing happens.

Oh no, is this using Grub 2? Grub 2 didn't work for me when I tried installing Ubuntu 9.10. Can you add an option to use Grub 0.97?

Fred
Your hard drive should be twice as fast now. You really do notice a performance increase with RAID 0.

I'm using the 180.22 driver now and it is not too stable. Stick with 173.14.12 if you have no problems...

Re: sound card driver

The best thing to do is to identify your sound card and then search for a solution.

Using

Code: Select all

lspci -v | less
what sound card is identified?

A 7200 rpm hard drive on average will give you a 33% hard drive performance boost or larger. So I would definitely use it!

Re: sound card driver

Hmmm, the problem could be one of many, but try this: A) First we’ll have to edit the ALSA configuration file via terminal: sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base B) Scroll down to the bottom and add this line: options snd-hda-intel model=laptop C) Hit Ctrl-O to save and then Ctrl-X to exit. D) Reboot ...

I tried that and found I did have some outdated headers. Now with new headers, I tried installing again and found again the ERROR: Unable to connect to download.nvidia.com [unknown host] and then it attempted to build its own kernel and got the ERROR: Unable to build the NVIDIA Kernel module. Don't...

Re: Nvidia driver with cuda installation in FELICIA

I reported this bug a few days ago: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-180/+bug/316902 To fix this I installed the 177.82 driver and then the 180.22 (if you want to) driver over top of it. PS-If that doesn't work, I'd post any further questions in that launchpad thread...
