Followed the steps until 'wine-staging-compat' it returns the error 'missing destination file operand after "wine-staging-compat'

Hi, Recent install of LMDE x64 I have never really agreed with using wine however I now find that I have no choice and I am having difficulty configuring it. unfortunately none of that helps, when I de-select all and try to install just a few updates then Synaptic downloads the selected updates however when it comes to installing them it gets part way through, then Synaptic shuts down and when I re open Synaptic the updates I selected are still there.
