I am currently using WordPress for my website. I have been thinking of an alternative that is low cost and simpler to maintain than WordPress. I'd love to hear back from people who don't use WordPress for their personal website. My it's is very simple. It's content driven and also uses castos which ...

Canon LiDE scanner issue Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon

I am trying to use my new scanner. This is what I get in the terminal: scanimage -L device `pixma:04A91913_4CC6F5' is a CANON CanoScan LiDE 300 multi-function peripheral I think that's a good thing. I'm not sure where to go from here. I use simple-scan. I tried the scanner in Windows 10 and it works...

I just installed Linux mint 18 xfce. After installing the latest version of crashplan, crashplan launches but no windows show up to log into crashplan. All I see is the crashplan icon in my panel. Re: Play selected tracks only, in audio player

If for example I have a playlist in audacious that has 500 songs in it. Let's say I want to select three tracks from the playlist and just listen to those I can do that in audacious?

I'm going to try quod libet as suggested and see if I am able to do this.

Play selected tracks only, in audio player

I am looking for an audio player that will allow me to select specific songs from a playlist and play only those ones. I don't think Clementine does this. I tried Deadbeef and Audacious and can't find a way to select tracks on the fly from a playlist and play just those files. Any ideas that do work...

I have Mint 17.2 Mate installed on my laptop. I'm looking for a large digital or analog clock that I can use so that my screen looks like a giant clock. I used to use the GLText module in the screensaver. It worked fine. Even though I can install this in Mate, I still haven't found a way to change t...

I switched from Ubuntu mate to mint 17.1 mate edition.

You mention fluxbox. Is there a mint distro with fluxbox or do I have to create a new fluxbox session?

Middle mouse button and workspaces

I am using Linux Mint 17.1 XFCE edition. One thing I really like is when I middle mouse click on the desktop I am presented with a window listing my workspaces. How can I do the same things in other distros that don't have this feature that I use on occassion?
