Re: Unattended-upgrades dont work on LM 17 (Qiana)

I've no idea why that works and the commands in the crontab don't :? I have been messing around with crontab -e and /etc/crontab. And finally found the solution here - http://askubuntu.com/questions/23009/reasons-why-crontab-does-not-work (Everyone having problems with crontab should read this) Bas...

Re: LM13 Cinnamon sluggish Windows 7 .32 bit

What /dev/urandom is trying to say is that the fact that you're dual-booting doesn't change the performance of Cinnamon (or anything to do with Linux honestly). What hardware specs does your computer have?

Re: Auto Update or Notification

Well I found out that anacron wasn't running right, so I purged it and reinstalled it, then created a bash script to do apt-get update, apt-get upgrade -y, and apt-get autoclean in the cron.daily directory. I think it's working now.

[SOLVED] Beginning of commands in Terminal

Does anyone know how to do this? T...

[SOLVED]Auto Update or Notification

So I've got Linux Mint 13 running on my mom's computer, and she's TERRIBLE about running updates regularly. So I need to either have it auto-update (everything, including the ppa's etc.) or have a very prominant, always-on notification that won't go away until the computer has been updated. I tried ...

Re: Map Windows Shares

Couldn't you just create a symlink? Maybe have a script run on login that will connect to the network drive and create a symlink to it on the desktop.

Just FYI you can create logical partitions and have MANY more (not sure exactly how many) partitions than the standard 4 per disk.

You're welcome! Also... Just give me something to break. :D So you want something to break. Running that command should open up a file in the gedit text editor. Simply make the changes it says and then either hit Ctrl+s or click on File->Save. Then close the text editor.

Re: [Solved] System freezing - Mint 13 Cinnamon

To revert back, just remove the launchpad section from /etc/apt/preferences file that you added earlier. (You can also remove the ppa if you really want to, but you don't have to.)

Then run an update, and it'll be back to stable :)
