Followed the instructions from the first post and worked out for me. Thank you very much.
P.S. I was actually quite disappointed (and still am) by the fact that something crucial like printing does not work (201303 version) and that the problem is there for months.

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
Yup, this is in LM 12 Cinnamon and what I meant was that the only way I can see to move windows to another workspace(s) is to right-click on the window title bar (I missed adding "bar" in my last reply. Sorry about that) and using the workspace switching options in the resulting menu as s...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
@kmb42vt Tnx for the reply However  I'm not sure what this means... By what I can see you have to revert back to right-clicking on the title of the open window... Did you mean doing this in 12 Cinnamon? And if yes, how? It's not necessary to have right-click functionality, but now I ...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
Am I wrong or not it's not possible to move windows to another (virtual) desktop anymore? And the question directly associated - what's the purpose of the "corner overview" now without having desktops aside? I do hope that all glossy and shiny appearance customization stuff improvements ar...

Almost unbelievably stupid, but it actually is - as described in the first post.

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
As far as I can recollect, Windows panel could be placed on the top as well. Something that I will never , ever accept, in any OS, at least not until this is the only option available. And I can't possibly describe my happiness when I logged into Cinnamon for the first time and saw there is one and ...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
"recently used files" should survive somewhere... It was a handy Gnome2 feature. Not for everyone. I even tried to delete "Recently used" shortcut in window that appears when some file is supposed to be saved. As it had fooled me once to save the file in nested folder on disk wi...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
I didn't see that anyone has mentioned earlier (neither here nor on github) but it's not possible for me to add local printer (e.g. CUPS pdf printer). I had to remove the default one as it was printing blank pdf pages (same thing I had to do in Katya). P.S. I resolved this as anything else I needed ...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
I agree that it's mostly a matter of personal affinity - but, from my point of view - Cinnamon is one large, huge, 7 mile step from Gnome MGSE. I find default appearance in MGSE (without extensions) very hard to work with on a regular basis (for fun and leisure activities not so important anyway). V...

Re: No battery Life and Power Settings in MATE
I think I could (will) live (at least for a while) with Mate without extra settings, but I believe I could hardly live with psychotic Gnome 3 looks and settings.

Re: Taskbar buttons ordering
Another suggestion - since I removed proprietary ATI drivers (Dell Inspiron 1545) problem seems to be gone. P.S. Removing these drivers also resolved issue with "suspend" when laptop lid is closed (there is thread on the forum right about that one) that I've been dealing with since "I...

Re: Taskbar buttons ordering
I thought that this wasn't working too (Linux Mint 11 Gnome) - but it seems that it's just a little bit unusual behavior. Somehow it seems as focus is lost, but when this happens - it works for me to move window handle completely to the bottom - and the item is reordered. Then it starts working fine...
