I have seen some forums place initial restrictions on the first few posts (unrelated to open source of IT etc). Ubuntu has a a forum too where you may get a quicker response. What is the problem exactly with the install?

Edimax KVM which is working ok with Ubuntu 14.04 on same KVM and don't get the change in resolution with monitor off like is happening with Mint 17. Not tried any other monitor (Dell 22" used) and cabling good quality too. Looks like something to do with Mint 17. Dare say the card is one that is doo...

Added the workspace switcher as I have on my Ubuntu 'Natty' unit but clicking on the workspaces doesn't change to other workspaces. Not near the unit currently but will take a look at what you've suggested then. Thanks.

Have recently installed LM 11 and find the 3d cube doesn't work and the borders were missing too. Reverted compiz to defaults to get back the border but can't access other workspaces (4) and when I try nothing happens.
