Re: Some systray glitches

After some days, I found a workaround for two of these above mentioned glitches. - keyboard I switched en (US) keyboard to en (CAN) and the bug is no more present. The layout are nearly identical. Maybe this is due to some imperialist reason? Whatever it may be, now I can boot with the French keyboa...

Re: Some systray glitches

@Portreve

I was not precise. Yours is also a solution.

But my main language is French. My LOCALE is in French. The English layout provides me handily some touches missing on my keyboard like < and > .

Re: Some systray glitches

@Portreve

Thanks for this clever tip but it's a workaround. I'll first look for a direct solution and opened an issue at git-hub.

Some systray glitches

Hi I use several applets on my systray and experiment some glitches. Cinnamon 4.8.0-1. 64 bits. Archlinux. - keyboard ("clavier"). I use both us and fr (Français "variante") languages. There is no way I can start with "fr". So, I have to switch at every reboot. I can li...

Re: Last update cinnamon went wrong

@karlchen Thanks for your non-helpful science. I did not open any Romeo repo. It was just plain update from cinnamon-desktop-data 2.4.2. And please, do yourself a favour, stop treating users you don't know as dumb asses. EDIT: this post has been written without seeing the one of Clem. Thanks to him ...

Re: Last update cinnamon went wrong

Same here. I installed the Cinnamon update. When I rebooted, Cinnamon had crashed and refused to start. Now I have removed cinnamon from my computer using synaptic (as well as about ten other packages recently updated). My sources.list in Synaptic is OK (archive.ubuntu....) $ inxi -Fxz System: Host:...

Yes, they will enjoy it immensely. From November on... As for me, I'm done with LMDE.

Re: Error messages when launching gparted and synaptic

[...] I am still at a loss to understand what you were trying to achieve. Both gparted and synaptic are in your main menu (gparted only if you installed it) and they are accessed by a click on the menu entry followed by your login. There are no errors. If you do not understand, I can't help. AFAIK,...

Re: Error messages when launching gparted and synaptic

There is most likely nothing wrong with your gparted nor synaptic. Access to either program is subject to login authorisation and the correct terminology for access via a terminal is "gparted-pkexec" and "synaptic-pkexec" respectively. pkexec is part of the policy kit authentica...

Error messages when launching gparted and synaptic

Hi I get litterally hundreds of error messages on my terminal when I launch gparted. As gparted is a sensitive piece of software, what can I do to correct it? I use LTS Qiana Cinnamon. roger@roger-mint ~ $ sudo gparted [sudo] password for roger: ====================== libparted : 2.3 ===============...

A proposal: include a binary for Scid_vs_PC

Hi Scid_vs_PC is easily the best chess Linux software you can find. It's a fork of Scid which you still can find in the repository. You have to compile it. It's trivial with LMDE and SolydX. I did it. However, something is wrong with Qiana Cinnamon on this regard: you can't create a proper makefile ...

Network manager follows a useless network

Hi My nm spots about a dozen networks. One is free (in fact, the information display is no more true, it's no more free . This wifi network is all the time on. My wifi is all the time on too. Whenever I put the computer to sleep, restart, etc., nm focus again and again to this pseudo "free"...

Re: [solved] after UP8 (LMDE) very weak sound from TV

I did it.

Somewhat, I think that some setting has been changed during the last update, unknowingly to the user. As far as sound is concerned, if there are some settings to be modified (why?), the sound should better be set to "loud" than "mute". :D
